Air Force Non Combatant 10th Pass Recruitment 2026-2027

Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the recruitment notification for Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Intake 01/2027. Unmarried male candidates holding 10th pass certificate can apply offline for Agniveer Vayu Non Combatant (Hospitality and Housekeeping) posts from 01 August to 17 August 2026. Indian Air Force Non Combatant Recruitment 2026-2027 as application form, eligibility criteria, selection process, physical, date, notification etc are given below.

IAF Agniveer Vayu Non-Combatant Recruitment 2026

The Agniveervayu Non-Combatant recruitment is an employment initiative conducted under the Agnipath Scheme. This program allows young citizens to experience the military lifestyle and serve the nation for a fixed tenure of four years.

In this recruitment, 10th Pass (Matriculation) candidates are enrolled in Hospitality and Housekeeping stream. Unlike the core combat profile, non-combatants manage essential support infrastructure at air bases across the country.

Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits – Agniveer Vayu is given a package of Rs 30000/- per month, which also includes fixed increment every year. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) shall also be provided as per the existing rules.

Vacancies and Job Profiles

Candidates enrolled as Agniveervayu Non-Combatant will be required to perform various tasks and duties assigned to them from time to time under Hospitality or Housekeeping streams, in addition to the specific tasks assigned to them in the organizational interest. The job profiles for both these streams are as follows:

1. Hospitality Stream – Candidates selected in Hospitality are expected to perform all jobs/task related to cooking, kitchen management, presentation of dishes, maintenance of sanitised and orderly environment in kitchen, safe storage of food and other items, handling of crockery, cutlery, refrigeration etc, laying of tables/chairs and serving of food, water etc.

2. Housekeeping Stream – Candidates selected in Housekeeping are expected to perform all jobs/task like cleaning of floors/ roads/ rooms/ bathroom/ commodes/ urinals etc, making of brooms, grass/ hedge cutting, ground levelling/ digging of trenches, watering of garden, washing of utensils/ clothes, filling and carrying of water, handling of office equipment.

Additionally, candidates will also have to do tasks like hair cutting, shaving, head massage, ironing clothes, stitching of leather items/ sole making, repair of leather items, shoe polishing, cutting/ stitching/ alteration/ darning of garments and making ribbons, badges etc under Housekeeping Stream.

Eligibility Criteria for IAF Non Combatant

You must fully satisfy all the conditions below. The Indian Air Force follows a zero-tolerance policy in case of data discrepancies during document verification.

Age Limit – Candidates should be born between 01 Jan 2005 and 01 Jul 2009 (both days inclusive). The upper age limit should be 22 years as on the date of enrolment.

Educational Qualification – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Central/State Govt recognized School/ Board. There is no high cut-off percentage required to apply, so just a basic pass certificate is enough to fulfill the educational qualification.

Marital Status – Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. Enrolled candidates must sign a mandatory legal undertaking promising not to marry during the 4-year service period.

Physical and Medical Standards

The initial screening eliminates candidates who do not meet the basic health standards of the Indian Air Force. Before applying, make sure you meet the following physical/medical standards:

1. Height – Minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.

2. Chest – Well-proportioned framework with a minimum required expansion of 05 cms.

3. Weight – Proportionate to individual age and height charts according to IAF medical scales.

4. Hearing – You should have normal hearing i.e. you must accurately hear a forced whisper from a distance of 06 metres with each ear separately.

5. Dental Health – Healthy gums and a clean dental arc showing a minimum of 14 dental points. Dental Implants and Implant Supported Prosthesis will not be awarded any dental points. Candidates wearing fixed or removable orthodontic appliances will be declared unfit.

6. Visual Health – Base visual acuity must be 6/36 in each eye, correctable to 6/9. Prior corneal refractive modifications like LASIK or PRK surgeries are not acceptable.

7. General Health – A clean medical history free of active or latent infections, chronic skin ailments, or missing appendages.

Air Force Non Combatant Selection Process

Agniveer Vayu Non-Combatant selection process consists of Phase-I (Written Examination), Phase-II (Physical Fitness Test), Phase-III (Stream Suitability Test) and Phase-IV (Medical Examination). The detailed process of selection (step-by-step) is as follows:

Phase 1: Written Examination

Candidates whose applications have been accepted will be issued Admit Card for the written test, indicating the date, location and time of written test. The test will be conducted at the Station/location where the candidate has submitted his application.

Candidates reporting for the written examination must carry the following documents for verification at the centre:

1. The candidates should carry their Aadhaar card (as displayed on their admit card) as proof of identity whenever they report for the selection test.

2. Character certificate signed by Gazetted Officer/ Panchayat Officer/ Principal of school (if studied during last one year only)/ Principal of College (if studying/ studied during last one year), not older than 6 months.

3. Original 10th/ Matriculation passing certificate or Digilocker verified printout.

4. Original 10th / Matriculation marks sheet (Internet copy is not acceptable).

5. Experience certificate, if any.

Written Exam Pattern – The Written Test will be common for both streams and will comprise of General English (15 Marks) and General Knowledge (15 Marks) as per 10th (Matriculation) level syllabus. To qualify in the written test, a candidate has to score minimum 05 marks in each subject and in aggregate minimum 15 marks out of total 30 marks.

  • General English: 15 Marks (minimum pass marks 05)
  • General Knowledge: 15 Marks (minimum pass marks 05)

Phase 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates declared pass in the written exam will be allowed to appear in Physical Fitness Test. The PFT will be of qualifying nature and common for both Hospitality and Housekeeping stream. Depending on the number of candidates passing the written test, candidates may be restricted to a ratio to appear for PFT, in the order of written test merit.

Height Check – Candidates will be measured for minimum acceptable height of 152 cms. Candidates below stipulated height requirement will be disqualified and will not be taken for any further tests.

PFT 1 – Candidates declared qualified in height check will be allowed to appear in PFT-I consisting a 1.6 km run to be completed within 07 minutes. If PFT-I is conducted in High Altitude areas, the timing will be suitably modified as following:

  • Upto 5000 feet: Nil
  • 5001 to 9000 feet: Additional 30 Seconds
  • 9001 to 12000 feet: Additional 120 Seconds

PFT 2 – Only candidates declared qualified in PFT-I will be allowed to appear in PFT-II. In order to qualify in PFT-II, candidates will have to complete push-ups, sit-ups and squats within stipulated time as per the following:

  • 10 Push-ups: Completed within a 1-minute period
  • 10 Sit-ups: Completed within a 1-minute period
  • 20 Squats: Completed within a 1-minute period

Phase 3: Stream Suitability Test (SST)

This stage tests your practical capabilities in your chosen stream. The exam committee tracks your performance across common tasks like handling kitchen utensils, vegetable chopping methods, floor sanitation drills, or fabric stitching exercises. You must demonstrate a basic technical aptitude for your selected stream to move forward.

The Stream Suitability Test (SST) will be qualifying in nature and will be conducted to test the practical ability of the candidates in their chosen stream. A certain proportion of candidates who pass the written test and PFT, in order of merit, may be allowed to take this test. To qualify in SST, the candidate must be willing to undergo training and do any work related to the chosen stream.

To assess the eligibility of candidates in SST, their performance will be evaluated in the manner given below:

Hospitality:

1. Demonstrated ability to perform cooking-related tasks, including cutting of meat/ vegetable/ fish, handling of kitchen equipment, preparation of dishes and presentation of food.
2. Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene requirements of kitchen/ dining hall and inclination/ attitude to maintain same.
3. Demonstrated aptitude to serve food/ water/ beverages.
4. Personal hygiene and appearance.
5. Common knowledge of cooking appliances and kitchen fire/ safety precautions.

Housekeeping:

1. Demonstrated ability to sweep floors/ roads, clean bathrooms/ commodes/ urinals.
2. Demonstrated ability to cut grass, water garden and dig trenches.
3. Demonstrated ability to wash utensils.
4. Demonstrated performance in any one of the following: Washing and ironing of clothes; or Hair cutting/ dressing/ shampooing with required hand and eye coordination; Stitching of leather items/ proficiency as mochi; or Tailoring/ knowledge of fabrics/ design and pattern-cutting skills.

Phase 4: Medical Examination

The final phase involves a comprehensive health checkup managed by Air Force Medical team. Candidates qualifying in SST will undergo medical examination at the designated place as per their merit. Medical examination will be conducted as per IAF medical standards and existing policy.

The medical exam also includes baseline investigation of Blood Haemogram- Hb, TLC, DLC, Platelets; Urine RE/ ME; Biochemistry (Blood Sugar Fasting & Post Prandial; Serum Cholesterol; RFT- Serum Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine; LFT- Serum Bilurubin, SGOT/ SGPT); Radiograph chest (PA View); ECG (R) and any other investigations deemed necessary by the Medical Officer.

How to Apply for Agniveer Vayu Non-Combatant

Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply offline for the Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Recruitment on the prescribed application form till 17th Aug 2026. You can apply to any of the Air Force Station of your choice subject to the vacancies in stream.

This recruitment uses a completely offline application process. There is no application fee required. Follow these steps to ensure your application is accepted:

1. Download the official application form PDF using the direct link given below from the CASB Agniveervayu Portal. Print out the entire PDF on clean white A4 paper sheets.

2. Fill in all information sections using BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS. Do not overwrite or use correction fluid.

3. Paste a recent passport-sized color photograph (not older than 06 months) against a light background.

4. Attach all the required documents (see the list below).

5. Place your completed form and certificates inside an envelope. Write as “APPLICATION FOR AGNIVEERVAYU NON-COMBATANT (INTAKE 01/2027)” clearly across the top header of the envelope.

6. Select your preferred station from the list of locations as given in notification PDF and send the envelope via Ordinary Post at given postal address or drop it directly into the Drop Box at given location.

Important Photo Rule: The photograph must show you holding a black slate across your chest. Your full name and the date the photo was taken must be written clearly on the slate with white chalk in capital letters. Two copies of the same photograph should be retained by the candidate for submitting at the time of enrolment.

Required Documents

Candidates are required to attach following documents with the application. Applications received without documents are liable to be rejected. Attach self-attested photocopies of these mandatory verification certificates:

  • Class 10th/ Matriculation mark sheet and class 10th passing certificate.
  • Self-addressed envelope with 10 Rupees stamp affixed on it.
  • Experience certificate (if held).
  • Character certificate (not older than 06 months).
  • Consent Certificate (signed by the parent/legal guardian if the candidate is below 18 years of age or signed by the candidate himself if the candidate is above 18 years of age).
