IAF Medical Assistant Recruitment Rally Barrackpore 2023

Indian Air Force has released notification to organize airmen recruitment rally for all the districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand for Intake 02/2023. The recruitment test for Airmen Group Y (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant trade will be held at Air Force Station Barrackpore, 24 Parganas (North), West Bengal from 12th Sep to 20th Sep 2023. IAF Medical Assistant Recruitment Rally Barrackpore 2023 as district-wise rally dates, qualification, selection process, physical, exam syllabus etc info is given below.

Indian Air Force Medical Assistant Recruitment

All eligible married/ unmarried Male Indian/ Gorkha (A Subject of Nepal) Citizens from the States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand fulfilling the domicile requirements can participate in this Recruitment Rally as per the Selection Programme below.

Pay and Allowances – Rs 14600/- per month during training and Rs 26900/- per month including Military Service Pay (MSP) will be paid on completion of training. In addition, dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

Job Specification – As a Medical Assistant, you are to be trained in nursing and first-aid. You will also be involved in management of medical stores, dispensaries and ward supervision and other Air Force duties.

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)

Age Limit:
Medical Assistant trade – Candidate should be unmarried and born between 26 Dec 2002 and 26 Dec 2006 (both days inclusive).


Medical Assistant trade (with Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy) – Unmarried candidate should be born between 26 Dec 1999 and 26 Dec 2004 (both dates inclusive). Married candidate should be born between 26 Dec 1999 and 26 Dec 2002 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification:
Medical Assistant trade – Candidate should have passed 10+2/ Intermediate/ Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% marks in English. OR

02 years vocational course with non-vocational subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Medical Assistant trade (with Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy) – Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

In addition, Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment will be mandatory requirement.

Medical Assistant Selection Process, Physical and Exam Syllabus

IAF Medical Asst selection process consists of the following five stages:

  • Verification of Eligibility
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Written Test (OMR Based)
  • Adaptability Test-2
  • Medical examination

For selection as Airmen, Provisional Select List (PSL) will be prepared and the inclusion of candidates in the PSL will depend upon their performance in the recruitment rally. Final enrolment will be strictly in order of merit from the PSL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies and meeting other eligibility criteria. The detailed selection process is as follows:

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Right after verification of eligibility you will be put through Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The PFT consists of 1.6 Kms run within 7 minutes (for candidates up to the age of 21 Years) and 7 minutes 30 Seconds (for candidates above 21 years of age and holding Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy).

In addition, candidates will have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

Written Test

Candidates qualified in PFT will be put through OMR based Written Test of maximum 50 Marks on the same day. The written test will be objective type and the question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi) except for English paper. The written test will be of 45 Minutes duration and will comprise of questions based on English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) as per the pattern below:

  • English: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA): 30 Questions (30 Marks)

The Written Test Result will be declared on the same day and you will have to qualify in each paper separately. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for each wrong answer or choosing more than one option as answer.

Adaptability Test

Candidates declared pass in the Written Test will have to go undergo Adaptability Test-2 on the same or subsequent day depending on the local conditions. Adaptability Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the Military way of life. Adaptability Test-1 (objective type written test) has been discontinued by the Indian Air Force.

Medical Examination

Candidates qualified in Adaptability Test-2 will be medically examined in the month of Sep 2023 at SMC, Air Force Station Barrackpore, 24 Paragnas (North), West Bengal or 10 Air Force Hospital, Hasimara. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.

Medical Standards:
Height – Minimum 152.5 Cms.
Chest – The chest should be well proportioned and well developed with the minimum range of expansion of 5 Cms.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
Visual Acuity – 6/36 each eye and correctable to 6/9 each.

Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately and should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages.

Candidate should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Body Tattoo – Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms(inside of elbow to the wrist), back(dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom Traditions of their tribes may be considered. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the Tattoo.

The AISL/ PSL for Intake 02/2023 will be published at 4 Airmen Selection Centre, Barrackpore, 24 Paragnas (North), West Bengal on 14 November 2023 (including separate PSL for Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy holders). The final Enrolment List for Airmen Intake 02/2023 will be published on 24 November 2023. The PSL/ Enrolment List will also be available at Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) website airmenselection.cdac.in.

Selection Programme, Required Documents and Notification

Candidates fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions are required to report at Air Force Station Barrackpore, 24 Parganas (North), West Bengal (rally venue) upto 10 AM on 12th, 15th and 18th September 2023 as per the Selection Programme. The recruitment rally for IAF Medical Assistant for all the districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand for Intake 02/2023 will be conducted as per the Selection Programme below.

Medical Assistant Trade:
For all the districts of States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim and West Bengal – 12th September to 13th September 2023

For all the districts of States of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand – 15th September to 16th September 2023

Medical Assistant (for candidates holding Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy):
For all the districts of States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand – 18th September to 19th September 2023

Writing Material and Required Documents

  • HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Glue Stick, Stapler and Black & Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.
  • Ten un-attested recent (taken not before 06 months) passport size colour photographs (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
  • Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of Matriculation passing certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).
  • Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of 10+2/ Intermediate/ Equivalent examination passing certificate and marks sheet.
  • Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of B.Sc/ Diploma in Pharmacy passing certificate and mark sheet (if applicable).
  • Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of Domicile Certificate OR Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of duly filled Son of Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) Certificate.
  • NOC in original and 04 self-attested photocopies for candidates presently serving in any Govt organization (if applicable).
  • Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of NCC A, B or C Certificate (if applicable).
  • Original and 04 Self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate as issued from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Govt Organisation (for candidates discharged from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Any other Govt Organisation).
