All eligible sportsmen of Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Kabaddi, Handball, Squash, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Water Polo discipline can apply for the IAF Sports Quota Bharti Vacancies in the prescribed application form. Indian Air Force Sportsmen Bharti Program 02/2023
Pay, Allowances and Benefits – Agniveervayu (Sports) enrolled under the Agnipath Scheme will be paid an Agniveer (Sports) package of Rs 30000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) will also be provided as per the existing rules.
Agniveervayu (Sports) will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force for a period of 04 years. On completion of 04 years of service, based on organization’s requirements and policies, Agniveervayu (Sports) will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrolment in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force as Airmen.
Unmarried male Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the IAF Sportsmen Recruitment Trials (Rally) scheduled to be held from 03 October to 05 October 2023 at Tejas Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi 110003. Specific Event/ Position/ Category wise sports discipline are listed below.

Athletics (5000 M and High Jump), Aquatics (Diving- High Board Diver, Swimming- IM 200 & 400 mtrs, Backstroke 50, 100 & 200 mtrs), Basketball (Centre), Boxing (Wt Cat 48 Kg), Cycling (Track 4 KM Individual Pursuit), Cricket (Fast Bowler or All-rounder), Football (Forward, Defender), Gymnastics (All Rounder for six apparatus), Hockey (Forward), Kabaddi (Left Raider, All-rounder), Handball (Pivot), Squash, Volleyball (Setter, Blocker/ Counter), Weightlifting (Wt Cat 73 Kg, Wt Cat 96 Kg), Wrestling (77 Kg GR, 70 Kg FS) and Water Polo (All-rounder).
Eligibility Criteria (Age, Qualification and Medical Standards)
Age Limit – Candidates should be born between 26 December 2002 and 26 Jun 2006 (both days inclusive). In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection trial, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years.
Science Subjects – Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination pass with Mathematics, Physics and English from any recognised Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
Passed 03 years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Govt recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in 12th/10th, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). OR
Passed 02 years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from any recognised Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in 12th/10th, if English is not a subject in vocational course).
Other than Science Subjects – Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination pass in any stream/ subjects approved by any recognised Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
Passed 02 years vocational course from any recognised Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in 12th/ 10th if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination (Including Intermediate/ 10+2/ 03 Years Diploma in engineering or 02 years vocational course with non-vocational subjects of Physics and Maths are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects.
Sports Qualification – In the Sports/ Games discipline, candidate should have represented the Country in Junior/ Senior International level OR represented the State/UT in Senior National Championships/ Inter University Championship OR represented the State in Junior National Championship and National School Tournament conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
Sports Qualification (Cricket) – Candidates who have played All India Inter-University or BCCI Trophies U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Dilip Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or have higher participation are eligible to apply.
Physical and Medical Standards:
Height – 152.5 Cms.
Chest – The chest wall should be well proportioned with minimum range of expansion of 05 Cms.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age.
Visual Acuity – 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye.
Colour Vision – CP-II
Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately and should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
Body Tattoo – Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/ reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, right to decide on acceptability/ unacceptability of the individual rests with the selection centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the tattoo.
IAF Sports Quota Selection Process and Physical Test
Candidate having the required applicable original documents like Aadhaar Card, Discharge Certificate (if applicable), Consent Form (as applicable) and passport size colour photographs will be scrutinised/ verified at the Selection Trials venue prior to commencement of Physical Fitness Test. The recruitment process consists of Verification of eligibility, Physical fitness test (PFT), Sports skill trials and Medical examination as follows:
Verification of Eligibility – Educational Certificates, Documents, Consent Form (signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age) and passport size colour photographs will be scrutinized/ verified at the recruitment venue.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – After the verification of eligibility, candidates will be allowed for PFT consisting 1.6 Kms run to be completed within 07 Minutes. Thereafter, candidates will also have to complete 10 Push-ups in 01 Minute, 10 Sit-ups in 01 Minute and 20 Squats in 01 Minute to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test. Candidates are advised to carry their sports shoes and shorts/ track pants.
Sports Skill Trials – Candidates qualified in PFT will be called for sports skill trials. Sports Skill trials will be conducted for the Sports applied at venues decided by AFSCB in Delhi-NCR.
Medical Examination – Candidates qualified in PFT and Selection trials for the game applied for will be called for medical fitness test by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.
Medical Examination would also include Baseline Investigation of Blood Haemogram- Hb, TLC, DLC; Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry- Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine, LFT- Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT, X- Ray chest (PA view), ECG (R) and any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.
Candidates declared medically fit by the medical board will be in the provisionally selected list of candidates. On finalization from the provisionally selected list of candidates, the finally selected candidates will be enrolled in IAF as Agniveervayu (Sports) depending upon available vacancies.
Selection Trials Schedule and Required Documents
The selection trials (Recruitment rally) for Agniveervayu (Sports) will be held from 03rd October to 05th October 2023. Candidates found eligible during document verification are required to report at No. 2 Airmen Selection Centre, outside Exit Gate, Air Force Station New Delhi as per the time mentioned in Admit Card. Thereafter, candidates have to undergo Physical Fitness Test at Tejas Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi 110003.
The selection trials for IAF Sports Quota for all the discipline will be conducted as per the Selection Programme (Schedule) below:
- 1st day (03rd Oct 2023): Document Verification and Physical Fitness Test.
- 2nd day (04th Oct 2023): Sports Specific Trials for those candidates who have cleared Document Verification and PFT.
- 3rd day (05th Oct 2023): Sports Specific Trials for the candidates who are shortlisted during previous day trial.
- 4th day (10th Oct 2023) and 5th day (11th Oct 2023): Medical Examination of the recommended candidates.
Documents Required at Selection Centre:
1. 10 copies of un-attested recent (taken not more than one month before, from the date of publishing of the advertisement notification) passport size colour photographs (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
2. Matriculation Mark sheet with four self attested copies.
3. Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Passing Certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).
4. Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination Passing Certificate and Marks Sheet. OR Original and four self-attested photocopies of three years Diploma Course passing certificate and mark sheets of all semesters. OR Original and four self-attested photocopies of two year vocation course passing certificate and mark sheets including Non Vocational course with subject English, Physics and Mathematics.
5. Original Certificates of Sports Achievements with four attested photo copies.
6. Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC A, B or C Certificate (if applicable).
7. Character Certificate (in Original).
8. Sports Kit.
9. Original and four Self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate (for candidates discharged from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Any other Government Organisation).
10. NOC in original and four self-attested photocopies from the employer for candidates presently serving in any government organization (if applicable).
11. Consent form for physical fitness test and medical tests.
Application form, Important Dates and Notification
To apply for the Indian Air Force Sports Quota Recruitment, firstly candidates have to register their candidature on the website agnipathvayu.cdac.in and then send the duly filled Application Form and Consent/ Undertaking Form along with all Educational and Sports Certificates at the official E-mail id email@example.com. Registration through both channels (modes) is mandatory.
Eligible and interested candidates have to take a printout of the application form on A4 size paper only as per the prescribed format given at the end of the official recruitment notification. You will have to scan the duly filled application form, matriculation certificate, marks sheet & certificate of educational qualification and sports achievement documents in one single pdf file.
After online registration, send the application form completed in all respects (signature, left hand thumb impression and photograph) along with the required documents through one single email only.
Application sent by Ordinary/ Registered/ Speed Post/ Courier will not be accepted. Candidate will have to submit only one application in response to this recruitment notification through E-mail after online submission of application. Candidature of candidate submitting more than one application or re-submitting same documents through different E-mail IDs will be cancelled.
