Indian Air Force Group C Recruitment 2026-27

Pay Scale:

Lower Division Clerk, Hindi Typist, Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver, Cook, Store Keeper, Carpenter and Painter – Rs 19900-63200 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-2 plus allowances as admissible.

MTS, HKS, Laundryman, Mess Staff and Vulcaniser – Rs 18000-56900 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-1 plus allowances as admissible.

Eligibility criteria like age limit, relaxation, educational qualification, skill test norms and experience/ proficiency for the Air Force Group C Recruitment are as follows:

Age Limit (All Posts) – 18 to 25 years as on the last date of receipt of application.

Relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for the candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped (additional 05 years in case of PH belonging to SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category). The age relaxation for all eligible candidates is applicable as per prevalent Govt Rules.

Educational Qualification:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Hindi Typist – 12th Pass from a recognized Board.

Candidate must have English/ Hindi typing skills on computer as per the norms- English typing @ 35 words per minute OR Hindi Typing @ 30 words per minute (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depressions per hour or 9000 Key Depressions per hour on an average of 5 Key Depressions for each word).

Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (CMTD OG) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must have a valid Civil Driving Licence for Light & Heavy vehicles and possess professional skill in driving and knowledge of motor mechanism with minimum 02 years experience in driving motor vehicles.

Cook (Ordinary Grade) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) from a recognized Board with a certificate or diploma in catering and 01 year experience in trade.

Painter (Skilled) – 10th Pass from a recognized Board or Institute. Industrial Training Institute Certificate in the trade of Painter from a recognized Institute. OR Ex-servicemen in appropriate trade viz. Painter.

Carpenter (Skilled) – 10th Pass from a recognized Board or Institute. Industrial Training Institute Certificate in the trade of Carpenter from a recognized Institute. OR Ex-servicemen in appropriate trade viz. Carpenter Rigger.

House Keeping Staff (HKS) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.

Laundryman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. One year of experience as Dhobi from an Organization or Institute, is desirable.

Mess Staff – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. One year of experience as Waiter or Washer up from an Organization or Institute, is desirable.

Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. One year of experience as Watchman or Lascar or Gestetner Operator or Gardener from an Organization or Institute, is desirable.

Selection Process, Written-Skill Test and Syllabus

The selection process consists of Written Exam and Practical/ Skill test. Candidates declared qualified in written test will be put through practical/ skill test of qualifying in nature. Date, time and centre for the written test will be intimated through Admit Card (Call letter) only to individuals whose applications are found correct in respects of age limit, qualification, documents and certificates after scrutiny.

All eligible candidates will have to appear for written exam as per the date, time and centre mentioned in Admit Card. The written test will be based on minimum education qualification and consist of objective type questions on General Intelligence, English Language, Numerical Aptitude, General Awareness, Trade/post etc as follows:

• For LDC/ Hindi Typist: General Intelligence, English Language, Numerical Aptitude and General Awareness.
• For MTS, HKS, Laundryman, Mess Staff and Vulcaniser: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English and General Awareness.
• For all other Trade/ Post: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, General Awareness and Trade/Post related question.

The question paper will be bilingual i.e. set in both English and Hindi. Requisite number of candidates will be shortlisted and called for skill/ physical test (qualifying in nature) based on merit/ category in the written test.

Thereafter, LDC/ Typist candidates will be put through skill test on computer as per the norms: English typing @ 35 words per minute OR Hindi Typing @ 30 words per minute (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depressions per hour and 9000 Key Depressions per hour on an average of 5 Key Depressions for each word).

While, skill/ practical test for Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (CMTD) and other posts (as applicable) will be conducted by IAF as per the norms.

For selection, post and category wise final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written test subject to qualifying the Practical/ Skill/ Physical test, medical fitness test, education and caste verification. On final selection, the candidate will be liable for All India Service Liabilities.

Send the application form complete in all respect along with the following required documents through Post to the concerned Air Force Station Postal Address (mentioned above under Advertisement No. 01/2026) as per choice so as to reach on or before the closing date.

Envelope containing application must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ________ AND CATEGORY_______”.

The tests will be conducted simultaneously for all categories. No separate exam will be conducted for candidates applying for more than one category, if the exams are held on the same date.

Required Documents – You will have to attach self-attested copies of following certificate/ documents with the application form:

• Educational qualification/ technical qualification certificate.
• 10th Pass certificate/ marksheet (for the proof of age).
• Experience/ Proficiency certificate (as applicable).
