SSB Tradesman Bharti Constable 827 Vacancies 2026-2027

Sashastra Seema Bal has invited online applications for the following 827 Vacancies of Constable/Tradesman (Veterinary, Driver, Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Carpenter and Nursing Orderly). SSB Constable/Tradesman Recruitment 2026-2027

Pay Scale and Allowances – Rs 21700-69100 Pay Matrix Level-3 (Old scale Rs 5200-20200 PB-1 with GP Rs 2000) plus Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Washing Allowance as admissible, Special Compensatory Allowance while posted in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, free leave pass and any other allowance as admissible in SSB from time to time under the rules.

Total Number of Vacancies – 827 Posts (Group C)

Trade wise Number of Vacancies – Veterinary: 34, Driver: 553, Gardener: 41, Water Carrier: 05, Cobbler: 25, Tailor: 41, Washerman: 74, Barber: 43, Waiter: 03, Carpenter: 07 and Nursing Orderly: 01.

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)

Age Limit (As on application closing date):

Constable Veterinary, Constable Driver and Constable Nursing Orderly – 18 to 27 years
Constable/Tradesman Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber and Waiter – 18 to 23 years
Constable/Tradesman Carpenter – 18 to 25 years

Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Departmental candidates etc will be applicable as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification:

Constable (Veterinary) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) with Science as main subject from a recognized Board. 01 year experience in treatment of different species of animals in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.

Constable (Driver) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and must have valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.

Constable (Nursing Orderly) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) from a recognised Board. First Aid certificate course from St. John’s Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India. Working experience of minimum 01 year as a Nursing Orderly in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital or Institution recognised by the Central/ State Government.

Constable/Tradesman (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter and Carpenter) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with:
02 years work experience in respective trade OR
01 year certificate course from a recognized ITI or Vocational Institute with minimum 01 year experience in the respective trade OR
02 years Diploma from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the trade or similar trade.

Candidates applying for the Constable Tradesman posts (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter and Carpenter) must have to qualify trade test for the respective trade.

SSB Tradesman Selection Procedure

The recruitment process will consist of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Written exam, Documentation, Trade test and Medical examination. For selection, final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written exam (CBT). Application Form, Fee, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and desirous candidates are required to submit online application form for SSB Constable Driver and Tradesman Vacancies through the website ssb.gov.in or recruitment.ssb.gov.in or applyssb.com up to 20th April 2026. You can apply for only one post otherwise your candidature will be cancelled.

To apply online, firstly you will have to click on Register button and then fill the required details as post, candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, religion, marital status, category, aadhaar number, identification marks, mobile number, email id, education qualification, address, password etc. Now you can upload your latest photograph and signature in JPEG/ JPG format in the next part.

Thereafter note down your registration number or application number for reference, which will also be sent to your registered email id. In the last part of the application form, you will have to pay the exam fee by using Net banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or Challan (if applicable). Finally, you can take a printout of the submitted form for record or reference.

Important Steps to Fill Online Application Form:

Part 1 – In the first part of application form, you will have to fill the required information as Post applied for, Candidate’s name, Father’s/ Husband’s name, Mother’s name, Date of birth, Gender, Nationality, Religion, Marital Status, Category, Community, Aadhaar Number, Identification Marks, Mobile Number, E-mail ID, Educational Qualification details, Permanent & Correspondence Address etc.

Part 2 – In the second part of application form, you will have to upload your passport size color Photograph and Signature in JPG/PDF format as per the size and resolution below:
Photograph: 04 kb to 12 kb with resolution 100 pixel widths & 120 pixels height in JPG format.
Signature: 04 kb to 12 kb with resolution 140 pixel widths & 60 pixels height in JPG format.

Part 3 – In the third part of application form, UR/ EWS/ OBC candidates will have to pay the requisite fee along with service charge as applicable through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ UPI of any bank. If payment is not made successfully due to any error then you can login to the system using your registration number and date of birth and go straight for payment mode.

After final submission, take a printout of system generated application form for record/ reference as a proof of candidature.

Examination fee – UR, EWS and OBC candidates are required to pay Rs 100/- as examination fee through online mode using Net banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI. SC, ST, Ex-serviceman and Female candidates are not required to pay the exam fee.

Admit Card – Eligible candidates list and Admit Card or Call letter for the different stages of SSB Constable Tradesmen recruitment process like PST, PET, Written exam etc will be released through official website about 2-3 weeks before the exam date. You may report at the respective recruitment exam centre with the Admit Card along with all documents.
