Eligibility criteria (Age and Qualification)
Eligibility criteria like age limit and educational qualification for Indian Army SSC (Tech) Men and Women Entry is as follows:
Age Limit:
SSC (Tech) Men and Women – 20 to 27 years as on 01 Apr 2027 i.e. candidate should have been born between 01 Apr 2000 and 31 Mar 2007 (both days inclusive).
Widows of Defence Personnel – Maximum 35 years as on 01 Apr 2027.
Educational Qualification – Candidates should have passed the Engineering Degree (BE/BTech) in relevant streams or be in the final year of relevant Engineering Degree course. Educational qualification for Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel for Non-Tech (Non-UPSC), is Graduation in any Discipline.
Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering Degree course should be able to submit proof of passing the exam along with marksheets of all semesters/ years by 01 Apr 2027 and produce the Engg Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).

Military Service Pay (MSP) @ ₹15,500/- per month (fixed) will be admissible to the Officers from the rank of Lieutenant to Brigadier. Allowances include DA, Para Reserve Allowance, Technical Allowance (Tier-I and Tier-II), Field Area allowances, Uniform Allowance, Ration in Kind, TA, Children Education Allowance etc as applicable.

SSC Tech Selection Process and Documents
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of cutoff percentage as fixed by Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) for each Engineering stream. After Shortlisting of applications, the centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to login to the website and select their SSB dates which are available on a first come first serve basis initially.
Call Up letter for SSB Interview (05 days duration) will be issued by respective Centres through registered e-mail id and SMS. Thereafter, candidates will be interviewed (put through two stage selection procedure) at one of the Centres, Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Jalandhar (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer.
Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared fit in medical examination, will be issued Joining Letter for pre-commissioning training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA) in the order of merit depending on the number of vacancies available. The duration of SSC Tech training will be 46 Weeks (excluding term break).
The candidates will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC) on probation in the rank of Lieutenant from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at PCTA. Candidates successfully completed Pre-Commission training will be awarded ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies’ by Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.
The final allocation of Arms/ Services will be made prior to passing out of Lady/ Gentleman Cadets from PCTA and will be at the sole discretion of Integrated HQ Ministry of Defence (Army) keeping in view the existing policy.
Required Documents – You will have to carry self-attested copies of the following documents along with originals to the Selection Centre at the time of SSB Interview:
- One copy of the Printout of application duly signed and affixed with self-attested photograph.
- Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or equivalent certificate and Marksheet issued by the Concerned Board of Education.
- 12th (10+2) class marksheet and certificate or equivalent Certificate/ Diploma marksheet and certificate (for Diploma holders).
- Engineering Degree/ Provisional Degree issued by the recognised university. Provisional Degree should not be more than 06 Months old at the time of joining the Academy.
- Marksheets of all semesters/ years of Engineering Degree.
- Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/ Registrar of the concerned University regarding formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grades into marks.
- Candidate’s declaration and Certificate from the Principal/ Head of the Institution stating that the candidate is studying in final year and his result will be declared by 01 Apr 2027 (for final year appearing candidates).
- Documents related to civil verification.

Eligible and desirous candidates are required to register and submit online application form for the Indian Army SSC Tech Men and Women Officer Vacancies on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in from 08 July to 07 August 2026. Aadhaar number and matriculation certificate is mandatory for registration. You are required to take out two copies of your application having Roll Number, 30 Minutes after final closure of online application on last day.
There is no need to send any hard copy to DG Recruiting.
