Indian Coast Guard invites applications for recruitment to the post of Assistant Commandant General Duty, CPL (SSA), Engineering, Electrical and Law Entry for 01/2024 Batch commencing in Jan 2024. Age Limit (All Branch):
Assistant Commandant GD (Male) – Candidates should be born between 01 Jul 1998 and 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). Relaxation of 05 years will be applicable for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/ Navy/ Air Force.

Assistant Commandant CPL SSA (Male/ Female) – Candidates should be born between 01 Jul 1998 and 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).

Assistant Commandant Technical (Engineering & Electrical/ Electronics) (Male) – Candidates should be born between 01 Jul 1998 and 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). Relaxation of 05 years will be applicable for personnel serving in Coast Guard.
Assistant Commandant Law (Male/ Female) – Candidates should be born between 01 Jul 1994 and 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). Relaxation of 05 years will be applicable for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/ Navy/ Air Force.

Educational Qualification for Assistant Commandant

General Duty (Male) – Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised university with minimum 60% Marks in aggregate with Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Class 12th (with minimum 55% Marks aggregate in Maths and Physics).

Commercial Pilot Entry CPL SSA (Male/ Female) – 12th Pass (Physics and Maths) with 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics and should have current/ valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued/ validated by Director General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Technical (Mechanical) (Male) – Engineering degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks and 12th Pass (Physics and Maths) with 55% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics.

Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) (Male) – Engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks and 12th Pass (Physics and Maths) with 55% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics.

Law (Male/ Female) – Degree in Law (03 years degree in Law after graduation or 05 years degree after 10+2) with minimum 60% Marks from a recognized university.

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process

Indian Coast Guard AC selection process consists of Stage-1 (CGCAT), Stage-2 (PSB), Stage-3 (FSB), Stage-4 (Medical examination) and Stage-5 (Induction), in detail as follows:

Stage 1: CGCAT

Eligible candidates will be called for Screening Test (Computer Based Examination) in MCQ pattern to be conducted at various centers all over India. The screening test will be be conducted for candidates applying for the post of GD/CPL and Technical (Mechanical/ Electrical & Electronics).

The screening test will be of maximum 400 Marks consisting of 100 Questions with 04 marks for each correct answer and 01 negative marking for each incorrect answer. The exam will be of 02 Hours duration and the medium of test paper will be English. The result of Stage-1 Exam will be announced tentatively within 30 days.

Stage 2: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)

candidates shortlisted in Stage-1 on the basis of merit will be allowed to appear in Stage-2 (PSB) at Noida, Mumbai/ Goa, Chennai and Kolkata centres. Candidates reporting for Stage-2 will first undergo photo and biometric verification. Thereafter, candidates will be screened through Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion (PP&DT). The Stage-2 exam will be qualifying in nature. Candidates qualified in PSB will have to undergo document verification.

Stage 3: Final Selection Board (FSB)

Candidates qualified in Preliminary Selection Board (PSB) will be called for Final Selection Board / FSB (Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview/ Personality test) to be conducted tentatively from Feb to Apr 2023. The schedule of Stage-3 will be intimated to the candidate through personal Login IDs. FSB will be conducted at the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) located at Noida and spans over five days.

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Candidates qualified in FSB will be called for Medical Examination at Base Hospital New Delhi as per the medical standards. Candidates declared unfit in Special Medical Board (SMB) will be allowed to appear for Review Medical Board (RMB).

Physical and Medical Standards:
Height:
Assistant Commandant GD and Tech – Minimum 157 Cms. Relaxation in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be applicable as per the Central Govt regulations.
Asst Commandant (CPL-SSA) (Men/ Women) – Minimum 162.5 Cms and maximum 197 Cms, leg length minimum 99 Cms.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age (±10% acceptable).
Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 Cms.

Stage 5: Induction

For final selection, All India Merit List will be prepared for the medically fit candidates on the basis of combined marks obtained in Stage-1 (CGCAT) and Stage-3 (FSB) depending upon the availability of vacancies. The list of candidates selected on the basis of merit list will be uploaded on Coast Guard recruitment website during the month of Nov-Dec 2023.

The training (22 weeks of basic training followed by ab-initio training at various training establishments/ units/ ships of Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard) of selected candidates will commence in early Jan 2024 at INA Ezhimala.

Online Application form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and desirous candidates are required to apply online for the Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Recruitment Officer Entry through the direct link below up to 09th Feb 2023. Before applying online, keep ready scanned copies of Photograph, Signature, Left and Right-Hand thumb impression, Date of Birth certificate, Identity proof and Domicile certificate to upload with the online application.

Read all the instructions and proceed to submit the application for Asst Commandant (GD/ GD SSA/ CPL SSA/ Technical/ Law Entry). After submission of online application form, note down your Application/ Registration number for future reference and for admit card download (reprint) or rejection slip.

Examination fee – Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 250/- through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ Maestro/ RuPay/ Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI. SC/ ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

The exam date, time, centre/ venue and other information will be intimated through e-admit card. The Admit Card (Call letter) will be available to download/ reprint through official website about 02-03 days prior to examination.
