Uttarakhand Upper PCS Exam 2026 for 67 Group B Vacancies

UKPSC has invited applications for recruitment to the following 67 Vacancies through the Uttarakhand Combined State Civil/ Upper Subordinate Services Examination. All eligible candidates can apply online for the Group B Vacancies of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Finance Officer, Assistant Director, Tax Officer, BDO, DEO, ARTO etc through psc.uk.gov.in up to 29 September 2026. UKPSC Upper PCS Exam 2026 (67 Vacancies)

उत्तराखण्ड लोक सेवा आयोग द्वारा समूह-ख में विभिन्न विभागों के अंतर्गत उत्तराखण्ड सम्मिलित राज्य सिविल/प्रवर अधीनस्थ सेवा परीक्षा-2026 (Upper PCS) के कुल 67 रिक्त पदों पर सीधी भर्ती के माध्यम से चयन हेतु इच्छुक एवं पात्र अभ्यर्थियों से ऑनलाइन आवेदन पत्र आमन्त्रित किये गए हैं।

Total Number of Vacancies – 67 Posts (Group B)

Age Limit – 21 to 42 years as on 01st July 2026 i.e. the candidate should not have been born after 01 Jul 2005 and not earlier than 02 Jul 1984. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, DFF, Ex-Servicemen and other categories is applicable as per Govt rules.

1. Deputy Collector

Qualification – Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Agriculture) or equivalent degree in Horticulture from a recognized University or Institute.

15. State Tax Officer

Department – वित्त विभाग
Pay Scale – Rs 44900-142400 (Level-7), Gazetted/ Permanent/ Contributory Pensioned.
Number of Vacancies – 05 (UR-05)
Qualification – Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University established by law in India.

16. Case Worker

Department – महिला कल्याण विभाग
Pay Scale – Rs 35400-112400 (Level-6), Gazetted/ Permanent/ Contributory Pensioned.
Number of Vacancies – 03 (UR-02, SC-01)
Qualification – Master’s degree in Sociology or Applied Sociology or Social Work.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have served in Territorial Army for a minimum period of 02 years OR who have obtained ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Physical Standards

1. Deputy Superintendent of Police

The following physical standards (height, chest and weight measurement) and medical standards are required for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police as per the provisions of Appendix-‘B’ of the Uttarakhand Police Service Rules, 2009:

Height:
GEN/OBC/SC – Male: 167.7 Cms and Female: 152 Cms.
ST Category – Male: 160 Cms and Female: 147 Cms.
Hill Area – Male: 162.6 Cms and Female: 147 Cms.

Chest (for male candidates only):
GEN/OBC/SC – 78.8 Cms (unexpanded) and 83.8 Cms (with expansion).
ST and Hill Area – 76.5 Cms (unexpended) and 81.5 Cms (with expansion).

Weight (for female candidates only): Minimum 45 Kgs.

For appointment in Uttarakhand Police Service, the candidate should have vision not less than 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other eye. For right-handed candidates without glasses, the right eye should be 6/6 and for left-handed candidates, the left eye should be 6/6 and should be completely free from colour blindness/ squint.

Candidates with knock-knee, flat feet, bow legs, varicose veins, stammering, disability and other deformities and other problems which create any kind of hindrance in the duty of a police officer will be considered ineligible. In respect of the above, on the proof of the suitability in the report prescribed by the Medical Council, the candidate will be finally appointed in Uttarakhand Police Service.

2. District Commandant, Homeguards

The following physical standards (height and chest measurement) and medical standards are required for the post of District Commandant Homeguards as per the provisions of the Uttarakhand Homeguards Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ Service Rules, 2016:

Male Candidates – Height: 165 Cms and Chest: 84-89 Cms
Female Candidates – Height: 150 Cms
Male Candidates (Uttarakhand State) – Height: 160 Cms and Chest: 84-89 Cms

A candidate shall be appointed to a post in the service only if he is in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect such as colour blindness, varicose veins, etc., likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his duties.

Upper PCS Selection Process and Exam Syllabus

The Uttarakhand Combined State Civil/ Upper Subordinate Services selection process consists of Preliminary Exam (Objective type), Main Exam (Written type) and Interview/ Personality Test, details of which are given below:

Preliminary Examination

The preliminary exam (objective type) consists of Paper-I (General Studies) and Paper-II (General Aptitude Test). Each paper will be of 02 Hours duration. Paper-I will comprise of total 150 questions carrying maximum 150 Marks (01 mark each). While Paper-II will comprise of total 100 questions carrying maximum 150 Marks (1.5 mark each). There will be negative marking of 1/4 Mark for every wrong answer given by candidates.

  • Paper-I (General Studies): 150 Questions (150 Marks)
  • Paper-II (General Aptitude Test): 100 Questions (150 Marks)

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I (General Studies). Paper-II (General Eligibility Test) is a qualifying examination in which candidates from all categories/ sub-categories are required to obtain 33% marks. Marks obtained in Preliminary Examination will not be added with the marks obtained in Main Exam for determining the final merit.

Preliminary Exam Centres – Almora, Ranikhet, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Ramnagar, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Khatima, Bageshwar, Pauri, Srinagar, Kotdwar, Gopeshwar, Karnaprayag, New Tehri, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Vikasnagar, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Laksar and Roorkee.

Main Examination

Candidates qualified in Preliminary Exam will have to appear for the Main Examination (written type). The main exam will carry a total of 1500 Marks consisting of eight papers (each of 03 Hours duration) as follows:

  • General Hindi: 150 Marks
  • Essay: 150 Marks
  • General Studies-I (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society): 200 Marks
  • General Studies-II (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations): 200 Marks
  • General Studies-III (Technology, Economic Development, Bio diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management): 200 Marks
  • General Studies-IV (Ethics, integrity and Aptitude): 200 Marks
  • General Studies-V (Knowledge of State of Uttarakhand): 200 Marks
  • General Studies-VI (Knowledge of State of Uttarakhand): 200 Marks

Note: All question papers are compulsory. It is mandatory to obtain minimum 35% Marks in the General Hindi paper.

Main Exam Centres – The main examination will be conducted at various centres in Haldwani and Haridwar.

Interview (Personality Test)

The interview/ personality test will be of maximum 150 Marks. Candidates declared successful in the main examination (written type) will be called for interview. The candidates will have to fill their post-wise preference through online mode and submit the certificates of educational/ reservation/ experience etc for verification before the Commission officials on document verification/ interview date.

This test will relate to general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/ personality and general suitability for the service while taking into account academic interest.

Final Selection

Based on the marks obtained in the main examination and interview, the candidates will be declared successful in the final selection result according to the category/ sub category wise number of vacancies. The result of the PCS Exam will be displayed on the UKPSC website, information of which will be published through various newspapers.

The selection result of the PCS posts will be prepared as per the provisions of the relevant service rules prescribed for the advertised posts and the provisions contained in the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Examination Result Preparation Process Regulations, 2022 (as amended from time to time) and on the basis of the preference given by the candidates.

Application Form, Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit online application form for the Uttarakhand Upper PCS Exam through the UKPSC website psc.uk.gov.in from 09th September to 29th September 2026 (11.59 PM).

Before applying online, keep ready your mobile number, email id and scanned images of recent colour passport size photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format. After successful submission of application, keep your E-mail ID and Password secure and take a print out of the computer generated form for record/ reference.

Application fee:
UR/EWS/OBC Category – Rs 150/- plus processing fee

The requisite fee can be remitted through online mode by using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI.

Admit Card – Information about the UKPSC Upper PCS Exam like date, time, center etc will be informed through Admit Card. The admit card will not be sent by Post rather it will be made available online on the official website about 1-2 weeks before the exam date.
