भारतीय नौसेना एसएसआर भर्ती 02/2023 and 01/2024 Batch
As per the Agnipath Scheme, the Agniveers will be enrolled in the Indian Navy for a period of four years. On completion of four years of service, based on organization’s requirements and policies, Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment (Regular Cadre) in the Indian Navy.
The applications for regular cadre will be considered in centralized manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four year engagement period. Up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in Indian Navy for further re-engagement as Sailor (Regular Cadre).

Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits – Agniveer (SSR) will be paid a package of Rs 30000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, risk and hardship, dress and travel allowances will be paid.

Eligibility Criteria (Age, Qualification and Standards)
Age Limit – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. Candidate should be born between 01 Nov 2002 and 30 Apr 2006 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification – 12th Pass (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science from an educational board recognized by Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
Physical and Medical Standards:
Height – Male: 157 Cms and Female: 152 Cms
Weight – Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Without Glasses – Better Eye: 6/6 and Worse Eye: 6/9
With Glasses – Better Eye: 6/6 Worse Eye: 6/6
Candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008.
Tattoos – Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be barred from recruitment.
केवल अविवाहित पुरुष और अविवाहित महिला उम्मीदवार ही भारतीय नौसेना में अग्निवीरों के रूप में भर्ती के पात्र हैं। उम्मीदवारों को नामांकन के समय ‘अविवाहित’ होने का प्रमाणपत्र देना होगा। अग्निवीर को भारतीय नौसेना में चार साल के कार्यकाल के दौरान शादी करने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी। यदि अग्निवीर अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान शादी कर लेता है या हस्ताक्षरित घोषणा पत्र देने के बावजूद पहले से ही शादीशुदा पाया जाता है तो उसे सेवा से बर्खास्त कर दिया जाएगा।
Indian Navy SSR Selection Process, Physical Test and Syllabus
The recruitment process for Agniveer (SSR) includes 03 stages as follows:
- Stage-1: Shortlisting (Computer based Online Examination)
- Stage-2: Written Examination, PFT and Initial Medical
- Stage-3: Final Recruitment Medical Examination

Stage-1 (Computer Based Online Examination)
Firstly, all candidates will be issued Call up Letter or Admit Card indicating date, time and place for Stage-1 test i.e. Shortlisting (computer based online examination). Call up letters will be available to download through official website about 01 week before the online examination.
All India computer based examination will be conducted for shortlisting of candidates. The shortlisting of candidates for Stage-2 tests will be based on marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET). Shortlisting will be carried out in state wise manner. The cut off marks for shortlisting for the next stage of selection process may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state wise manner.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus – The question paper will be computer-based and will consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each). The question paper will be of 01 Hour duration and will comprise of 04 sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness. The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2. There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given by candidates.
Candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. Result of the computer based online examination will be announced tentatively after 30 days. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each section and in aggregate. Stage-2 (Written Exam, PFT and Initial Medical)
Written Examination – Candidates declared qualified in Stage-1 (computer based online examination) will be issued call-up letter for Stage-2 (written examination, PFT and Initial Medical). Stage-2 tests will be conducted at the designated Indian Navy’s centres. Aadhar Card will be mandatory for the tests. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
Male Candidates – The PFT will consist of 1.6 Kms run within 06 minutes 30 seconds, 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak) and 12 Push-ups.
Female Candidates – The PFT will consist of 1.6 Kms run within 08 minutes, 15 Squats (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Bent Knee Sit-ups.
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. Proficiency in sports, swimming and extra curricular activities is desirable.
Initial Medical Examination – Candidates qualified in PFT will be put through initial medical examination. Candidates qualifying initial medical examination will be considered as “Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination”.
Merit List – Indian Navy SSR Merit list will be prepared state-wise on the basis of performance in Stage-2 written exam subject to qualification in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Initial Medical Examination. Agniveer (SSR) 02/2023 and 01/2024 Result (merit list) or list of selected candidates will be declared by October 2023. The cut off marks for issue of call up letter for final medical examination at INS Chilka may vary from state to state.
Stage-3 (Final Recruitment Medical Examination)
Finally, all selected candidates will be called at INS Chilka for final medical examination and verification before commencement of training. The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness as per Medical Standards. Candidates who are found medically fit in Final Recruitment Medical Examination will be recruited as Agniveer (SSR).
All selected candidates will have to produce the self-attested certificates submitted at the time of filling online application along with the all original certificates, at INS Chilka. If the details provided during online application are not matching with the original certificates produced at INS Chilka, the candidature will be cancelled. The training for the SSR 02/2023 batch will commence in November 2023 and training for the SSR 01/2024 batch will commence in April 2024 at INS Chilka (Odisha).
Online Application form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and desirous candidates are required to apply online for the Join Indian Navy Agniveer SSR Recruitment through the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in or agniveernavy.cdac.in up to 19th June 2023 (revised). Before submitting online application form, keep ready scanned copies of all the required documents as certificates, mark sheets, domicile certificate, NCC certificate (if held) and photograph with blue background (10-50kb).
The photograph should be front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs (not taken before April 2023). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his/her chest with his/her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
You are required to carry the original documents at all the stages of recruitment (Written Exam, PFT and Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka) in support of documents uploaded during filling of online application.
Examination fee – Candidates will have to pay Rs 550/- (Rupees Five hundred fifty only) plus 18% GST during the online application through online mode by using Net Banking or Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI.
