Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)
Eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification and experience for the Uttarakhand Govt Polytechnic Lecturer Recruitment is as follows:
Age Limit – 21 to 42 years as on 01 Jul 2024 i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02 Jul 1982 and not later than 01 Jul 2003. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories is applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification:
Lecturer (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Electronics/ Instrumentation & CE/ Computer Science & Engg/ PGDCA/ Mechanical Automobile/ Chemical/ Agriculture) – BE/ B.Tech/B.S or equivalent degree with 1st division in relevant Engineering Branch (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Automobile/ Chemical/ Agriculture) from any recognized University or Engineering Institute. Candidate should also have knowledge of Hindi.
Preference will be given to such candidates who possess postgraduate degree in the relevant subject, have passed GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) examination and have one year of industrial or educational experience.
Lecturer (Pharmacy) – B.Pharma or equivalent degree with 1st class from a recognized University/ Pharmacy institute. Candidate should also have knowledge of Hindi.
Preference will be given to such candidates who have Post Graduate degree in the relevant subject, have passed GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) examination and have 01 year of industrial or educational experience.
Lecturer (Physics/ Chemistry/ Maths/ English) – Master’s degree with 1st division in the relevant subject (Physics/ Chemistry/ Maths/ English) or equivalent degree. Candidate should also have knowledge of Hindi/ English.
Preference will be given to such candidates who possess Doctorate degree in the relevant subject and have passed National Eligibility Test (NET) and have knowledge of computer.
Lecturer (Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice) – B.Com/ B.A Maths/ B.Sc with 1st division and Diploma in Stenography and Secretarial Practice (MOM&SP) of minimum 02 years duration with 1st division from a recognized institute.
Candidates should have 03 years of professional or academic experience in the field of Stenography and Secretarial Practice and have knowledge of Hindi and English.
Preference will be given to such candidates who possess M.Sc/ M.A (Maths)/ M.Com/ MBA qualification from a recognized University and have knowledge of computer.
Preferential Qualification (All Posts) – Preference will be given to those candidates who have completed minimum 02 years service in Territorial Army or have NCC B/ C Certificate.

Polytechnic Lecturer Selection Process and Exam Syllabus
The selection process consists of written examination (objective type) and interview, as per the prescribed examination scheme and syllabus. Interview will be conducted for the candidates declared provisionally successful in the written exam.
Polytechnic Lecturer (Pravakta) written exam consists of Paper-1 (General Hindi), Paper-2 (General English) and Paper-3 (Subject related). The Paper-2 (General English) will be conducted for only Lecturer (Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice).
- Paper-1 (General Hindi): 100 Questions (100 Marks)
- Paper-2 (General English): 100 Questions (100 Marks)
- Paper-3 (Subject related): 150 Questions (300 Marks)
The 1st and 2nd paper will be of 02 Hours duration each, while the 3rd paper will be of 03 Hours duration. Negative marking of ¼ of assigned marks will be applicable for every wrong answer given by candidates. Minimum 40% marks for Unreserved, 35% marks for EWS/ OBC, 30% marks for SC/ ST/ DFF/ EXM and 25% for PH category are required to qualify in the written exam.
The written examination will be held at the exam centres of Almora, Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani and Srinagar (Garhwal) in the state of Uttarakhand. In case of less number of candidates, the written examination will be held only in Haridwar.
Practical Examination (Qualifying Nature) – Basic knowledge of computer operation practical exam will be conducted for only Polytechnic Lecturer (Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice) as follows:
Basic Computer Knowledge Test (01 Hour duration) – Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office (maximum 100 Marks), consisting 01 question (each of 20 Marks) from each- (1) Windows and Internet (2) MS Word (3) MS Access (4) MS Excel (5) MS Power Point.
Each question will have one action to be performed on the system. Minimum 40 Marks will be mandatory to obtain in Basic Computer Knowledge Test to qualify.
Allotment of posts will be done on the basis of merit, educational qualification, age, service rules, category wise and online preference given by the candidate. Selection will be done for only one post from the preference given by the candidates in the online form i.e. after selection of a candidate for one post, that candidate will not be selected for other posts.
Candidates will be declared successful in the final selection on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and interview depending on category/ sub-category wise number of vacant posts.
Information about the Govt Polytechnic Lecturer Written Exam like date, time, center etc will be notified through admit card (call letter). The admit card will not be sent by Post rather it will be made available online on the official website about 1-2 weeks before the exam date.

Online Application, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit online application form for the Uttarakhand Govt Polytechnic Lecturer Recruitment through the website psc.uk.gov.in from 23rd Jul to 12th Aug 2024.
Keep ready your mobile number, email id, educational details and scanned images of recent colour passport size photograph with the dimensions (150W x 200H) and signature with the dimensions (150W x 100H) in JPG/ JPEG format only.
Important Steps for filling online application:

- Step 3: Photo and signature upload.
- Step 4: Application fee payment (as applicable).
- Step 5: Taking printout of application.
After successful submission of data, candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated application form for record. The printout of the application form is not to be sent to the Commission.

UR/ EWS/ OBC Category – Rs 150/- plus processing charges.
SC/ ST Category – Rs 60/- plus processing charges.
PH Category – Processing charges (no application fee).
Orphan Category – Nil.
The requisite fee can be paid through online mode using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI at the time of submission of online application form.
