HNBUMU or HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University has released the Nursing Exam notification for admission to State quota seats of ANM, GNM, BSc/MSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing and Paramedical courses. Candidates seeking admission in Uttarakhand Government/ Private Nursing Colleges can apply online for the exams through hnbumu.ac.in from 15 May to 05 June 2026. Uttarakhand Nursing Application Form 2026 and Entrance Exam details like eligibility criteria, fee, date, syllabus, center, brochure etc are given below.
HNB Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam 2026
According to the news, now all the seats in government/ private nursing and paramedical colleges in Uttarakhand will be filled on the basis of entrance exam. Earlier, 50% of the seats in private nursing and paramedical colleges in the state were filled on the basis of entrance examination, while the remaining 50% seats were filled directly by the private colleges.
This year, as per the INC (Indian Nursing Council) rules and State Government Act, it has been decided to conduct entrance exam for all the nursing seats. Thereafter, counselling will be conducted by HNB Medical University. If any seats remain vacant even after this, they will be filled on the basis of marks (merit) obtained in Class 12 examination.
HNBUMU has also finalized the schedule for the Uttarakhand Nursing/ Paramedical Entrance Exam 2026. According to the schedule, online applications for the entrance exams begin on May 15, and the last date for submission is June 05.
The entrance examinations for BSc Nursing, GNM, and Post-Basic Nursing will be held on 13th June 2026, while the entrance examinations for ANM, MSc Nursing and BSc/MSc Paramedical courses will be held on 14th June 2026. The entrance exam will be held at Dehradun, Srinagar, New Tehri, Nainital (Haldwani), Pithoragarh, Haridwar, Gopeshwar, Uttarkashi, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora, Bageshwar and Rudraprayag centers.
The entrance exams is being conducted for ANM, GNM, BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing and Paramedical courses (UG/PG) like BSc/MSc MLT, BMRT, BSc Optometry, BSc Medical Microbiology, BPT/MPT and BOTT (OT Technician).
Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) – Only for Female candidates.
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) – Only 20% seats will be reserved for Male candidates.

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)
Age Limit – Minimum 17 Years as on 31 Dec 2026 for ANM, GNM, BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and Paramedical.
Educational Qualification:
ANM – 12th Pass (10+2) with Subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Vocational Study, Accounting, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology & Philosophy) or Health Care Science (in vocational stream only) from any recognized Board.
GNM – 12th Pass (10+2) with at least 40% Marks in Subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Vocational Study, Accounting, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology & Philosophy) with English as a main/ optional subject or Health Care Science (in vocational stream only) from any recognized Board.
BSc Nursing – 12th Pass (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English as a main/optional subject with at least 45% Marks in aggregate.
Post Basic BSc Nursing – 12th Pass with GNM from any recognized Nursing college.
MSc Nursing/ NPCC Nursing – B.Sc Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with at least 55% Marks from any recognized College/ Institution.
Paramedical – 12th Pass (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English as a main/optional subject with at least 45% Marks in aggregate.
The following eligibility criteria are required to appear in the entrance examination:
Candidates who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand and have passed both 10th and 12th or equivalent examinations from any recognized educational institution situated in Uttarakhand State. OR
Candidates who are not permanent residents of Uttarakhand and have passed both 10th and 12th or equivalent examinations from any recognized educational institution situated in Uttarakhand State, will be eligible to appear in the examination, but they will not claim any reserved seat. OR
Candidates who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand and have passed either one or both 10th and 12th or equivalent examinations from any recognized educational institution situated outside Uttarakhand State.

Uttarakhand Nursing/ Paramedical Entrance Exam will be of 02 Hours duration and will consist of total 100 Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions (1 mark each). The questions will be set in English and Hindi Language. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers marked by candidates. Eligible and desirous candidates are required to register and submit online application form for the HNBUMU Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam through the website hnbumu.ac.in from 15th May to 05th June 2026. You are required to go through the Registration process using mobile number and email id before submission of application form for ANM, GNM, BSc (N), MSc (N), Post Basic BSc (N) and Paramedical courses.
