Indian Army released an employment notice for the recruitment of following 72 Vacancies of Defence Civilian (Group C) at HQ Madras Engineer Group & Centre Bangalore. All eligible candidates can apply for the MEG Centre Bharti for Lascar, Cook, Multi Tasking Staff, Washerman, Barber, Civilian Trade Instructors, Storekeeper and LDC in the prescribed application form. Age Limit (All Posts) – 18 to 25 years as on closing date of receipt of application (relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC will be applicable as per Govt rules).
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) – 12th Pass or equivalent qualification from a recognised Board and English typing with 35 wpm or Hindi Typing with 30 wpm on computer (35/ 30 words per minute correspond to 10500/ 9000 key depressions per hour on an average of 5 key depressions for each word).
Storekeeper (SK III) – 12th Pass (10+2) from a recognized Board or its equivalent qualification. Minimum 01 year experience in similar work, Knowledge of Computer in MS Word and Certificate course in Store Keeping/ Management, are desirable qualifications.
Civilian Trade Instructor (CTI) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with Industrial Training Institute/ National Certificate of Trade & Vocational Training Certificate in relevant trade.
Cook – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and must have knowledge of Indian Cooking and proficiency in trade.
Lascar – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. As a desirable qualification, candidate should be conversant with the duties of the Lascar with 01 year experience in the trade.
Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. As a desirable qualification, candidate should be conversant with the duties of the Watchman/ Gardener/ Civilian Messenger/ Safaiwala with 01 year experience in relevant trade.
Washerman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and candidate must be able to wash Military/ Civilian clothes thoroughly well.
Barber – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with proficiency in Barbers’ trade job. 01 year experience in the trade is a desirable qualification.
MEG Centre Bangalore Recruitment Process and Exam Syllabus
The selection process will consist of written test and skill test. Candidates whose application are found to be complete in all respect along with all necessary documents and found eligible only be called for written exam. In case of large number of applications received, the number of candidates may be restricted to a reasonable limit on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed minimum essential qualification. In case of grading system, candidates will have to furnish conversion formula duly approved by the respective Board/ Institute.
Candidates qualified in written exam will have to undergo trade test (as applicable). The number of candidates called for skill test or trade test may be restricted to 10 times of number of vacancies based on the merit/ marks obtained in the written exam.
The recruitment tests will be conducted at HQ MEG & Centre Bangalore. Exam date, time and venue for written test and trade test will be intimated through Admit Card (Call letter) sent by Post. Candidates will have to carry any one photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, Ration Card) to the examination centre.
Written Examination – The written test will consist of objective type questions of Class 10th/ 12th/ ITI standard as per educational qualification of respective post. The Question Paper-cum-Answer Sheet of written test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi. However, the question on the portion of English Language will be in English only. The question paper will comprise of questions based on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General English and Numerical Aptitude as per the exam pattern below:
General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Numerical Aptitude – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General English – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
General Awareness – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written test subject to qualifying the skill/ trade test (as applicable), medical fitness test, police verification, educational and caste verification.
Application Form, Required Documents and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the MEG Centre Bangalore Civilian Defence Vacancies in the prescribed application form (offline) by downloading from the website indianarmy.nic.in through the link below. Candidates will have to fill up the form in their own hand writing in BLOCK capital letters only. Thereafter, send the application form complete in all respect along with the following required documents through Registered Post to “The Civilian Establishment Officer, Civilian Recruitment Cell, HQ MEG & Centre, Bangalore, Sivan Chetty Garden Post, Bangalore – 560042” or drop at Drop Box kept at reception room at main gate of HQ MEG & Centre Bangalore.
Envelope containing application must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _________ UNDER CIVILIAN DIRECT RECRUITMENT”. Name of the category (Gen/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ PH/ MSP) should be mentioned at the top of the envelope.
Written exam for all the posts may be held concurrently on the same day. However, candidates applying for more than one post may do so at their own risk but should submit separate application for each post. For MTS category, candidates can apply only for one of the four trades given i.e. either for Civilian Messenger, Gardener, Watchman or Safaiwala.
Required documents – Self-attested (or attested by a Gazetted Officer) photocopies of the following documents/ certificates must be attached with the application form:
1. Matriculation or equivalent certificate in support of the declaration of age.
2. All educational/ technical qualification certificates.
3. Sports certificate in prescribed format (for meritorious sportsperson).
4. Experience certificate (as applicable).
5. SC/ST Certificate in prescribed format (as applicable).
6. Disability certificate (if applicable).
7. Non-creamy layer certificate and declaration/ undertaking in prescribed format (for OBC candidates).
8. Three self-addressed envelopes duly affixed postal stamps, preferably of Rs 25/- on each.
9. Two additional recent passport size photographs (4cm x 5cm) along with application form.
10. Two copies of admit card duly affixing photograph, signature and thumb impression.
