SSC CGL Recruitment 17727 Group C and B Posts 2024-2025

Staff Selection Commission has released Combined Graduate Level Exam notification for filling up the following 17727 (approx) Group C and B vacancies in various Departments. All eligible candidates can apply online for the SSC CGLE Bharti Vacancies of Assistant Officer, Inspector, Sub Inspector, Accountant, Auditor, Postal/ Sorting Assistant etc through ssc.gov.in up to 24th Jul 2024. Total Number of Vacancies – 17727 Posts (Approx). These Group C and Group B posts will be filled in different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals etc. Post and category wise vacancy details will be intimated after finalization by the Commission as reported by various departments.

Pay Scale:
Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax (CBDT) – Rs 44900-142400 (Pay Level-7).

Assistant/ Assistant Section Officer, Executive Assistant, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Sub Inspector (NIA), Sub-Inspector/ Junior Intelligence Officer (NCB), Junior Statistical Officer – Rs 35400-112400 (Pay Level-6).

Auditor and Accountant – Rs 29200-92300 (Pay Level-5).

Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, Upper Division Clerk, Tax Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant and Sub-Inspector (Central Bureau of Narcotics) – Rs 25500-81100 (Pay Level-4).

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)

Age Limit (01.08.2024):
Group C Posts (except Inspector CBDT) – 18 to 27 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006. Age relaxation is permissible as per Govt rules.

All Other Posts – Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years (refer to CGLE notification for post-wise age limit. Age relaxation is permissible as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification:
Junior Statistical Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th Class. OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Research Assistant (NHRC) – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute. As desirable qualifications, candidate should have minimum 01 year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution and Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.

All Other Posts – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.

Candidates appeared in their final year of graduation can also apply, however they must possess essential qualification on or before 01.08.2024.

SSC CGL Selection Process and Examination Syllabus

The selection process consists of Computer Based Examination conducted in Tier-1 and Tier-2 as follows:

Tier-I Examination – The Tier-I Exam consists of total 100 Objective Type Multiple choice questions of maximum 200 Marks (02 Marks each). The time duration for the Tier-I Exam will be 01 Hour. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi (except English Comprehension). There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. The Question Paper will comprise of 04 subjects as follows:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • General Awareness: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
  • English Comprehension: 25 Questions (50 Marks)

Tier-II Examination – Candidates qualified and shortlisted in Tier-I will be allowed to appear for the Tier-II Exam. The Tier-II exam includes conducting of Paper-I and Paper-II in separate shift(s)/ day(s). Tier-II (Paper-I and Paper-II) will consist of Objective Type Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I.

The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Language And Comprehension module in Section-II of Paper-I. There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.

Paper-I is compulsory for all the Group B and Group C posts. Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.

Qualifying Marks – Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II, Paper-II of Tier-II Examination are as follows:

UR Category – 30% Marks
OBC/ EWS Category – 25% Marks
All Other Categories – 20% Marks

For selection, post and category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only. Final selection will be based on merit and preferences of Posts/ Departments given by the candidates.

Online Application, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for the SSC CGLE Group B and Group C Recruitment through the website www.ssc.gov.in up to 14th July 2024. Before applying online, keep ready a Mobile Number, Email ID, ID Proof, Educational details and scanned copies of passport size photograph (20 Kb to 50 Kb) and signature (10 Kb to 20 Kb).

To apply online, you have to complete the process of filling online application consisting two parts as One Time Registration and Filling of online Application for the Examination.

Application Fee: Rs 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Candidates can pay the requisite fee online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. SC, ST, Women, Persons with Disabilities and Ex-serviceman are exempted from payment of fee.
