UTET 2026: Online Form, Eligibility, Date and Notification

Uttarakhand Board of School Education invites applications from eligible candidates for Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026. It is mandatory to pass TET to be eligible to apply for Teacher Vacancies from class 1 to 8. This year UTET-I and UTET-II are scheduled to be held on 29 September 2026 (Proposed). Candidates have to apply online for UTET through UBSE website ukutet.com from 14 July to 03 August 2026. UTET 2026 details like online application form, Paper I & II eligibility, validity, fees, dates, correction, brochure, notification etc are given below.

Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026

Under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 and the notifications issued by NCTE, minimum qualifications have been prescribed for the appointment of teachers in govt, govt-aided and privately recognized primary and upper primary schools under state control (including schools granted No Objection Certificate by the state govt). Accordingly, to get appointed to teaching posts in these schools, candidates must have the required academic and training qualifications and also pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET).

Qualification for UTET-I (Class 1 to 5)

1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd/BTC). OR

2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd/BTC), obtained in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002. OR

3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd). OR

4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR

5. Graduation (or its equivalent) and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd/BTC). OR

6. Shiksha Mitras working on honorarium basis in government primary schools who have successfully completed the two-year DElEd training from IGNOU with the permission of the state government. OR

7. Regularly appointed teachers (in-service) on the posts of Assistant Teacher/ Headmaster (Primary) and Assistant Teacher/ Headmaster (Upper Primary) in all types of schools imparting education for classes 01-05 that have been allotted a UDISE code.

Note – Candidates appearing in 01 year Degree course or final year of 02 years Degree/ Diploma and 04 years Degree are also eligible for Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test. Relaxation of 05% Marks will be applicable in Graduate level for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates.

Qualification for UTET-II (Class 6 to 8)

1. Graduation (or equivalent) and a two-year diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/DElEd). OR

2. Graduation (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (BEd/LT/Shiksha Shastri) degree (regular/institutional mode only). OR

3. Graduation (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a Bachelor of Education (BEd/LT/Shiksha Shastri) degree (regular/institutional mode only), obtained in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR

4. Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) degree. OR

5. Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year BA/BSc BEd or BAEd/BScEd degree. OR

6. Graduation (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a BEd (Special Education) degree recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). OR

7. At least 50% marks either in Graduation or Post-Graduation and passed or in training or enrolled in Bachelor in Education (BEd). Provided that minimum percentage of marks in Graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July 2011. OR

8. Regularly appointed teachers (in-service) on the posts of Assistant Teacher/ Headmaster and Assistant Teacher (LT Grade) in all types of schools imparting education for classes 06-08 that have been allotted a UDISE code.

Note – Candidates appearing in 01 year Degree course or final year of 02 years Degree/ Diploma and 04 years Degree are also eligible for Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET). Relaxation of 05% Marks will be applicable in Graduate level for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates.

UTET Validity, Qualifying Marks and Certificate

The validity of the Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET) Certificate is for lifetime. Any candidate can appear in UTET one or more times. Apart from this, UTET qualified candidates can also appear in this exam to improve their marks. You can read the Notification issued by NCTE regarding extension of validity period of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Certificate to lifetime.

The minimum qualifying marks in Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET) is 60% for General candidates, 40% for SC/ST candidates and 50% for OBC candidates, Disabled candidates, Freedom Fighter dependents and Ex-servicemen (self).

Uttarakhand Board of School Education, Ramnagar (Nainital) issues UTET Certificate to all the candidates who qualify the Teacher Eligibility Test, which contains the name of the candidate, father’s name, date of birth, registration number/roll number, marks obtained in each paper, besides training qualification. Moreover, UTET Marksheets (Scorecard) is mandatorily provided to all the candidates who appeared in the exam.

UTET Certificate Correction & Duplicate Copy – For correction in UTET certificate or to get second copy of UTET certificate you have to submit the following form and related documents to the Secretary Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad Ramnagar, Nainital.

For correction in candidate’s name/ father’s name/ eligibility code etc:

1. Handwritten application form by the candidate in the name of Secretary.
2. Photocopy of high school certificate.
3. Bank draft of Rs. 150 in the name of Secretary, Uttarakhand Board of School Education, Ramnagar.
4. Affidavit on stamp paper of Rs. 10.

For a second copy of the certificate in case of loss of the original certificate:

1. Handwritten application form by the candidate in the name of Secretary, Uttarakhand Board of School Education, Ramnagar.
2. Original advertisement in the National Newspaper regarding loss of certificate mentioning the passing year and roll number.
3. Bank draft of Rs. 150 in the name of Secretary, Uttarakhand Board of School Education, Ramnagar.
4. Affidavit on stamp paper of Rs. 10.

Online Application form, Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to register and submit online form for the UTET (Uttarakhand TET) 2026 through the website ubse.uk.gov.in or ukutet.com from 14th July to 03rd August 2026. Before applying online, keep ready scanned images of Photograph, Signature and Left hand Thumb Impression in jpg/jpeg format only.

To apply online, follow the important instructions below:

1. Registration: Firstly visit ukutet.com and click on the “New Registration” link. Read the instructions given and then click on Proceed to Registration button (if not already registered). Next, submit the required details like candidate’s name, father’s name, mobile number and email ID. After submitting the details, your Login ID (Registration Number) and Password will be sent to your registered mobile number/ Email ID.

2. Application Form: To complete the application part, you need to login to the website ukutet.com using your Login ID (Registration Number) and Password (sent to the registered mobile number). Now fill all the required information (Mother’s Name, Gender, Qualification, Eligibility Code, Exam Center, Address, Photo ID, etc.) to complete the part.

3. Next, upload your latest photograph (5-100 kB), signature (2-50 kB) and left hand thumb impression (10-150 kB) in JPG format. Finally, pay the examination fee (as applicable) and take a printout of the submitted application form for record or reference.

  • Step 3: Upload Photo, Signature and Left hand Thumb Impression
  • Step 4: Preview and Edit Application
  • Step 5: Pay Examination fee
  • Step 6: View/ Print Application form

Candidates can appear in any one exam or both the exams. UTET-1 and UTET-2 exams will be conducted in two shifts on the same day. If a candidate wants to appear in both the primary and upper primary level (UTET I & II) exams, then only one application form will have to be filled and it has to be clearly marked at the place as specified on the application form.

Examination fees:

General/ OBC Category:
Only UTET Paper I or Paper II – Rs 600/-
Both UTET Paper I and Paper II – Rs 1000/-

SC/ ST/ PH Category:
Only UTET Paper I or Paper II – Rs 300/-
Both UTET Paper I and Paper II – Rs 500/-

You can pay the requisite examination fee through online payment mode by using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI only.

Commencement of online form submission – 14 July 2026
Last date for submission of online form – 03 August 2026 (11:59 PM)
Last date for payment of exam fee – 06 August 2026 (11:59 PM)
