Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invited online applications for filling up the following 926 Vacancies of Assistant in various offices of the Bank. Eligible candidates can apply online for the RBI Assistant Vacancies through the website www.rbi.org.in up to 16 January 2020. Age Limit (As on 01.12.2019) – 18 to 28 Years i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.12.1991 and not later than 01.12.1999 (both days including). Upper age limit will be relaxed as per Govt norms.
Educational Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% Marks (pass class for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) in aggregate having the knowledge of word processing on PC.
RBI Assistant Selection Process and Exam Pattern
RBI Assistant selection process will consist of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Language Proficiency Test (LPT) as per the exam pattern given below. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Preliminary and Main examination. ¼th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given by candidates.
Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice):
RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam paper will be of maximum 100 Marks (100 objective type questions) of total 60 Minutes duration consisting of three sections (total time of 20 Minutes for each) as follows:
- English Language – 30 Questions (30 Marks)
- Numerical Ability – 35 Questions (35 Marks)
- Reasoning Ability – 35 Questions (35 Marks)
Roll number of the candidates successful in preliminary online examination will be made available on the official website in February/ March 2020.
Main Examination (Multiple Choice):
Candidates qualified in Preliminary Exam will be allowed for the Main Exam. The Main Exam paper will be of maximum 200 Marks (200 objective type questions) of total 135 Minutes duration consisting of five sections as follows:
- Reasoning – 40 Questions of 40 Marks (30 minutes duration)
- English Language – 40 Questions of 40 Marks (30 minutes duration)
- Numerical Ability – 40 Questions of 40 Marks (30 minutes duration)
- General Awareness – 40 Questions of 40 Marks (25 minutes duration)
- Computer Knowledge – 40 Questions of 40 Marks (20 minutes duration)
Roll number of the candidates successful in main online examination will be made available on the official website in March/ April 2020.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT) – Candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main on-line exam will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official/ Local Language of the concerned State.
Final Selection will be based on the performance in online test, qualifying in LPT, Medical fitness, verification of certificates, Biometric Data, etc to the Bank’s satisfaction.

Eligible and desirous candidates can submit online application form for the Reserve Bank Vacancies through the RBI website www.rbi.org.in up to 16 January 2020. Before applying online, keep ready a valid personal email ID, Mobile number and scanned copies of photograph (200 x 230 pixels) and signature (140 x 60 pixels) in JPG or JPEG format. Candidates are advised to go through the RBI Assistant recruitment notification carefully and fill all the necessary details while filling up the online form. The printout of the computer generated application form is not to be sent to the Bank.
