Total Number of Vacancies – 14582 Posts (Approx). These Group C and Group B posts will be filled in different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals etc. Post and category wise vacancy details will be intimated after finalization by the Commission as reported by various departments.
Pay Scale:
Assistant Section Officer, Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector (CBI) and Section Head – Rs 44900-142400 (Pay Level-7).
Assistant/ Assistant Section Officer, Executive Assistant, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Sub Inspector (NIA), Sub-Inspector/ Junior Intelligence Officer (NCB), Junior Statistical Officer, Statistical Investigator and Office Superintendent – Rs 35400-112400 (Pay Level-6).
Auditor and Accountant – Rs 29200-92300 (Pay Level-5).
Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, Upper Division Clerk, Tax Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant and Sub-Inspector (Central Bureau of Narcotics) – Rs 25500-81100 (Pay Level-4).

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)
Age Limit (01.08.2025):
Group C Posts (except Inspector CBDT) – 18 to 27 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2007. Age relaxation is permissible as per Govt rules.
All Other Posts – Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years (refer to CGLE notification for post-wise age limit). Age relaxation is permissible as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification:
Junior Statistical Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th Class. OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II – Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates should have studied the subject of Statistics at Degree Level in Part I, II and III or in all the six semesters of 03 year degree course and not simply a paper in any part of the Degree or six semesters at degree level.
All Other Posts – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
Candidates appeared in their final year of graduation can also apply, however they must possess essential qualification on or before 01.08.2025.

SSC CGL Selection Process and Examination Syllabus
The selection process consists of Computer Based Examination conducted in Tier-I and Tier-II as follows:
Tier-I Examination – The Tier-I Exam consists of total 100 Objective Type Multiple choice questions of maximum 200 Marks (02 Marks each). The time duration for the Tier-I Exam will be 01 Hour. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi (except English Comprehension). There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. The Question Paper will comprise of 04 subjects as follows:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Awareness: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- English Comprehension: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
Tier-II Examination – Candidates qualified and shortlisted in Tier-I will be allowed to appear for the Tier-II Exam. The Tier-II exam includes conducting of Paper-I and Paper-II in separate shift(s)/ day(s). Tier-II (Paper-I and Paper-II) will consist of Objective Type Multiple choice questions, except Section-III and Section-IV of Paper-I.
The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Language And Comprehension module in Section-II of Paper-I. There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
Paper-I is compulsory for all the Group B and Group C posts. Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) & Statistical Investigator Grade-II and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.

Qualifying Marks – Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II and Paper-II of Tier-II Examination are as follows:
UR Category – 30% Marks
OBC/ EWS Category – 25% Marks
All Other Categories – 20% Marks
For selection, post and category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only. Final selection will be based on merit and preferences of Posts/ Departments given by the candidates.

Online Application, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for the SSC CGL Exam Group B and Group C Vacancies through the website ssc.gov.in up to 04th July 2025. Before applying online, keep ready a Mobile Number, Email ID, ID Proof, Educational details and scanned copies of passport size photograph (20 Kb to 50 Kb) and signature (10 Kb to 20 Kb).
To apply online, you have to complete the process of filling online application consisting two parts as One Time Registration and Filling of online Application for the Examination.
Application Fee: Rs 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Candidates can pay the requisite fee online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. SC, ST, Women, Persons with Disabilities and Ex-serviceman are exempted from payment of fee.
