Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an Autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Education, Govt of India. Age Limit – Maximum 30 years.

16. Stenographer Grade – II

Pay Scale – Rs 25500-81100 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-4.
Educational Qualification – Graduate from recognized university/Institute and Skill test Norms- Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m and Transcription: 50 minutes (Eng)/ 65 minutes (Hindi) on computer.
Age Limit – Maximum 27 years.

KVS Recruitment Process and Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of a two-tier examination (Tier-1 and Tier-2) and interview/skill test (as applicable). The examinations for all the posts will be conducted as per the syllabus (pattern) and examination schedule prescribed by KVS and NVS.

Tier-1 will be a Preliminary (Qualifying) Examination in OMR (Objective) Mode and the examination for all posts will be of 02 hours duration with no time limit for each part of the test. The components of the Tier-1 exam are as follows:

• Part-I (General Reasoning): 20 Questions (60 Marks)
• Part-II (Numeric Ability): 20 Questions (60 Marks)
• Part-III (Basic Computer Literacy): 20 Questions (60 Marks)
• Part-IV (General Knowledge): 20 Questions (60 Marks)
• Part-V (Language Competency Test for English): 10 Questions (30 Marks)
• Part-VI (Language Competency Test for one other Modern Indian Languages): 10 Questions (30 Marks)

There will be negative marking for wrong answers in Tier-1; 1/3rd marks (i.e. 01 mark) will be deducted for each wrong answer. Tier-1 will be a screening test from which candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-2 in the ratio of 1:10 (relative to the notified vacancies).

There will be a separate Tier-2 examination for each post which will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi and English medium. The Tier-2 exam will be of 2½ hours duration and there will be no time limit for each section of the test. Tier-2 for all the posts will be Subject Knowledge Examination (combination of Pen-Paper and OMR Based) as per details given below.

• Objective Type: 60 Questions (60 Marks)
• Descriptive Type: 10 Questions (40 Marks)

In Tier-2, each objective type question carries 1 mark and there will be negative marking for wrong answers; 1/4th marks (i.e. 0.25 marks) will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The final merit lists of Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal, PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Translator will be prepared by giving weightage of 85% and 15% to the marks obtained by candidates in Tier-2 and Interview respectively. The interview will be of 100 marks.

For the posts of Stenographer Gr I & II and Junior Secretariat Assistant, candidates have to qualify in shorthand/ typing (wherever applicable). There will neither be Interview nor skill test for the posts of Assistant Section Officer and Senior Secretariat Assistant.

After the final merit list is prepared, candidates will have to mandatorily submit their preference for posts in KVS and NVS on the online portal. The allotment of post and department (KVS/NVS) will be done as per the merit and choice indicated by the candidates.

Eligible and interested candidates will have to register and submit online form for the KVS PGT TGT PRT and Other Vacancies through the website kvsangathan.nic.in or examinationservices.nic.in up to 04th Dec 2025. After submission of online form, candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated application form for record. You are not required to send the printout of the online application or any other documents to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) by Post.

Assistant Commissioner, Principal and Vice Principal – Rs 2300/-.
PGT, Assistant Engineer, Finance Officer, Administrative Officer, TGT, Librarian, PRT, Assistant Section Officer and Junior Translator – Rs 1500/-.
Senior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer Grade I & II and Junior Secretariat Assistant – Rs 1200/-.

A processing fee of Rs. 500/- will also be charged for each post category. SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of exam fee.
