Indian Army invites applications for admission to 04 years B.Sc (Nursing) course commencing at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services. Candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) on successful completion of training. Military Nursing Service Recruitment 2025-2026

Total Number of Vacancies – 220 Seats

Vacancy (Seats) Details – College of Nursing (CON)/ Institution wise B.Sc. Nursing vacancies (seats) are as follows:

• College of Nursing, AFMC Pune: 40 Vacancies
• College of Nursing, CH (EC) Kolkata: 30 Vacancies
• College of Nursing, INHS Asvini: 40 Vacancies
• College of Nursing, AH (R&R) New Delhi: 30 Vacancies
• College of Nursing, CH (CC) Lucknow: 40 Vacancies
• College of Nursing, CH (AF) Bangalore: 40 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria – Indian Army MNS (BSc Nursing) eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification and physical standards are given below:

Age Limit – Candidate should be born between 01 Oct 2000 and 30 Sep 2008 (both days inclusive). Female candidates who are unmarried/ divorced/ legally separated/ widow without encumbrances, are eligible to apply for Military Nursing Service Recruitment.

Educational Qualification – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent examination pass in the first attempt as a regular student from any recognized Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English with minimum 50% Marks in aggregate.

Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc Nursing course in AFMS institutes will have to compulsorily clear the NEET (UG) 2025 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying exam may also apply provisionally for admission to B.Sc Nursing course at Colleges/ Schools of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite subjects and marks before joining the B.Sc Nursing Course.

Physical Standards – The minimum height required is 152 Cms. Candidates belonging to Hill and North Eastern States will be accepted with a minimum height of 147 Cms. Medical fitness will be determined as per standards applicable for Undergraduate entry into Colleges of Nursing in the Armed Forces Medical Services.

Indian Army MNS Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection or screening process includes shortlisting of candidates, document verification, computer based test, psychological assessment, interview and medical examination, as detailed below:

Short Listing of Candidates

Candidates will be shortlisted for the recruitment process on the basis of NEET (UG) 2025 scores. The list of the shortlisted candidates with reference numbers will be published through the Indian Army website. Thereafter, Admit Card will be issued to all shortlisted candidates to appear for Computer Based Test, Psychological Assessment, Interview and Medical examination at Base Hospital Delhi Cantt.

Verification of Documents

Firstly, all shortlisted candidates will have to produce original documents listed in the admit card at the beginning of screening process at Base Hospital Delhi Cantt (BHDC). The shortlisted candidates if not in possession of documents as per eligibility criteria or at any stage of the selection process, if it is found that information provided has been willfully concealed or misrepresented will lead to disqualification from the selection process.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates qualified in documents verification will be allowed to appear in Computer Based Test. The CBT consists of Test of General Intelligence and General English (TOGIGE) of maximum 80 Marks. The Computer Based Test will consist of total 40 MCQs of 02 marks each. The CBT will be of 30 Minutes duration. Negative marking of 0.5 Marks will be applicable for every incorrect answer given by candidates.

Psychological Assessment and Interview

Candidates qualified in Computer Based Test will undergo psychological assessment and interview by a Board of Officers at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The candidates may be asked questions on the core subjects up to 10+2 Standard, General Knowledge, Current Affairs and their interests, hobbies etc.

Due weightage will be given to candidates during interview for achievements in Sports at various levels and for the dependents of Officers/ JCOs/ ORs who are Serving/ Ex-Servicemen/ Killed in action.

Medical Examination

Candidates declared qualified in Psychological Assessment and Interview will be put through Medical Examination by Special Medical Board (SMB) at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. All candidates have to be medically fit keeping in view, the specific training requirements, charter of duties and level of fitness desired for candidates to join MNS.

Candidates will be informed about their medical status (FIT/ UNFIT) on completion of medical examination. Candidates declared UNFIT by SMB will be allowed to undergo for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within 24 hours from the date of SMB.

Final Selection

The final selection of a candidate for the B.Sc Nursing Course will be based on the combined merit prepared using NEET (UG) 2025 Score, Test of General Intelligence and General English, Psychological Assessment Test (PAT) and Interview, subject to medical fitness.

Colleges will be allocated to the selected candidates based on the merit cum choice, subject to seats available at each college. The final list of selected candidates will be published on the Join Indian Army website.

On successful completion of Nursing Training (4 years) in Colleges of Nursing, the candidates will be granted Permanent/ Short Service Commission in the AFMS as Military Nursing Service Officer if offered, under the Terms and Conditions laid down for grant of such Commission.

Application Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested female candidates (unmarried/ divorced/ legally separated/ widow without encumbrances) are required to apply online for the Indian Army MNS BSc Nursing Vacancies through joinindianarmy.nic.in from 17th June to 30th June 2025. It’s compulsory to have active E-mail ID and Mobile number for applying online and for all future correspondence.

After registration of online form, note down E-mail ID (User ID) and Password for further requirements. You are not required to forward any paper applications by Post.

Application fee – Candidates will have to pay Rs 200/- using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. Only eligible candidates will be able to pay the application fee. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee. On successful completion of online payment, preserve the bank reference number (DU Number) for the future references.
