Eligibility Criteria (Age Limit and Qualification)
Age Limit – Maximum 30 years as on application closing date i.e. 14th Feb 2025. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other categories is applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification:

DSSSB PGT Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of One Tier Examination i.e. Tier-I for the post of Post Graduate Teacher. The Computer Based Examination will be conducted by the Board only in Delhi/ NCR centers on scheduled date and time. Information about the PGT Exam like date, time, center etc will be notified through Admit Card (Call letter). The admit card will not be sent by Post rather it will be made available online on the official website about 1-2 weeks before the exam date.
The question paper will be of total 03 Hours duration and will consist of total 300 Objective Type Questions/ MCQs (01 mark each) of maximum 300 Marks. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for every wrong answer given by candidates.
The questions will be bilingual (Hindi and English) except for the Language papers. DSSSB PGT written examination consists of Section-1 carrying maximum 100 Marks and Section-2 carrying maximum 200 Marks as per the pattern given below:
Section-1
- Mental Ability and Reasoning Ability: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- General Awareness: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- English Language and Comprehension: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Hindi Language and Comprehension: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Numerical Aptitude and Data Interpretation: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
Section-2
- MCQs pertaining to Post-Graduation qualification and teaching methodology required for the post: 200 Questions (200 Marks)
DSSSB PGT Answer Key will be published through the official website after completion of examination. Candidates may go through the draft Answer Keys and submit online objections, if any, within the stipulated time limit given by the Board.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
GEN/ EWS – 40% Marks
OBC (Delhi) – 35% Marks
SC/ ST/ PH (PwBD) – 30% Marks
Ex-servicemen will be given 5% relaxation in their respective categories subject to a minimum of 30% Marks. Cutoff Marks for selection in different categories may go higher depending upon the marks obtained by the candidates and number of vacancies in respective categories.
For selection, marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized (if required) by using the prescribed formula and then normalized scores will be used to prepare subject-wise and category-wise final merit and selection list. The final allotment of posts/ departments will be made on the basis of merit-cum-preferences of posts/ departments of candidates.

The latest and detailed DSSSB PGT Syllabus (Section-1 and Section-2) for Hindi, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Commerce, History, Geography, Political Science and Sociology subjects provided by the Board is as follows:
Section-1
Mental Ability and Reasoning Ability – Analogy, Classification, Series, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense Test, Logical Venn Diagrams, Alphabet Test, Sitting Arrangements, Mathematical Operations, Arithmetical Reasoning, Inserting the Missing Character.
Number, Ranking and Time Sequence Test, Eligibility Test, Syllogism, Statement and Arguments, Statement and Assumptions, Statement and Courses of action, Statement and Conclusions, Deriving Conclusion, Assertion and Reason, Punch Lines, Situation Reaction Tests, Cause and Effect, Analytical Reasoning.
General Awareness – Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him/ her and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test knowledge of Current Events and of such matter of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person.
The test will also include questions relating to History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/ International Organizations/ Institutions etc.
Numerical Aptitude and Data Interpretation – Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Table & Graphs, Pie Chart, Line Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph and Venn Diagrams.
English Language and Comprehension – Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English Language, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.
Hindi Language and Comprehension – Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the Hindi Language, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.
Section-2
MCQs pertaining to Post-Graduation qualification and Teaching Methodology required for the post – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of one mark each from the subject concerned including questions on Teaching Methodology. Application form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for the DSSSB PGT Recruitment Teacher Vacancies through the website dsssbonline.nic.in from 16th Jan to 14th Feb 2025. Before applying online, keep ready your Mobile number, valid Email ID, Aadhaar number, educational details, photograph etc. To apply online follow the instructions below:
Registration – Firstly go to the DSSSB OARS Portal and open New Registration page and then submit your Name, Date of birth, Educational details, Mobile number, Email ID, Aadhaar number etc required details. After successful submission of data, note down and preserve your Registration number (login ID) and Password for further requirements and to apply for any recruitment conducted by the Board.
Online Application Form – To submit the online application, login to OARS Portal and proceed to fill the form with required details. Follow the instructions for applying online carefully while filling up Online Application Form for the post concerned. Finally pay the application fee (if applicable) through SBI e-pay.
After submitting the application, take printout of the system generated online form for future reference (record). The printout of online application form or any other document is not required to send by Post to the Board.
Application fee:
GEN/ OBC male candidates will have to pay Rs 100/- (One Hundred only) as application fee through SBI e-pay. SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
