Territorial Army Zone-1 Recruitment Rally for 731 Vacancies

Territorial Army (TA) has released the bharti dates for the States/UTs of Zone-1 (Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi). The TA Army Zone 1 Recruitment Rally will be conducted from 17 Nov 2025 for a total of 731 Vacancies of Soldier GD, Tradesman and Clerk. Territorial Army Zone 1 Recruitment 2025-2026

The recruitment for eight Infantry Battalions of the Territorial Army for the States/UTs of Zone-1 (UT of Ladakh, UT of J&K, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, UT of Chandigarh and NCT Delhi) will be conducted by the following four units at four locations/centres (Ludhiana, Kalka, Delhi and Madhopur).

1. 103 Inf Bn (TA) SIKH LI
2. 102 Inf Bn (TA) PUNJAB
3. 105 Inf Bn (TA) RAJ RIF
4. 126 Inf Bn (TA) JAK RIF

Post Category – Soldier GD, Soldier Tradesman (10th pass), Soldier Tradesman (8th pass) and Soldier Clerk.

Age Limit – 18 to 42 years as on the date of recruitment.

Educational Qualification:

Soldier (General Duty) – Class 10th / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For Boards following grading sys Min of D Grade (33-43) in individual subjects or grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate of C2 grade or equivalent corresponding to 45% in aggregate.

Soldier (Clerk) – 10+2/ Intermediate Exam pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/ Accounts/ Book Keeping in Class 12th is mandatory.

Soldier Tradesmen (except House Keeper & Mess Keeper) – Class 10th pass. No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored min 33% in each subject.

Soldier Tradesmen (House Keeper & Mess Keeper) – Class 8th pass. No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored min 33% in each subject.

Selection Process, Physical and Written Exam (CEE)

The selection process for Territorial Army includes Physical Fitness Test, Documentation, Medical Examination, Trade Test (wherever applicable), Written Exam (CEE) and Screening/Aptitude Test (wherever applicable), details of which are as follows:

Physical Standards:

Height – 160 cms (157 cms in case of Domicile of Eastern Himalayan Region {Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam and Hill Regions of West Bengal (Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts)}, Indian Domicile Gorkha, Garwalis and Ladakhis).
Chest – 82 cms (77 cms unexpanded).
Weight – Proportionate to height & age as per Army Medical Standards.

Relaxation in Physical Standards:

Sons of servicemen, Ex-servicemen, War widow & widow of Ex-servicemen, adopted son/ son-in-law of a War Widow, if she has no son – Height: 02 cms, Weight: 02 kgs & Chest: 01 cm.
Outstanding sportsmen (International, National & State level) – Height: 03 cms, Weight: 03 kgs & Chest: 03 cms.

List of Games and Sports for Enrolment – Athletics including Track and field events, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Equestrian, Football, Fencing, Gymnastics, Golf, Hockey, Handball, Judo, Kabaddi, Kayaking & Canoeing, Karate, Rowing, Rugby, Swimming, Diving & Water Polo, Squash, Shooting, Sailing, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Volleyball, Weight Lifting, Wrestling, Winter Games (Ice Hockey, Biathlon, Skiing, Ice Skating and Wushu.

Physical Fitness Test:

The physical fitness test will be of maximum 100 marks and will include 1 mile run, pull-ups, balance and 9 feet ditch. The marks distribution for the physical fitness test is as follows:

1 Mile Run (18 to 30 years):
Upto 5 Min 30 Sec – 60 marks
5 min 31 sec to 5 min 45 sec – 40 marks
5 min 46 sec and above – Fail

1 Mile Run (31 to 42 years):
Upto 6 min 15 sec – 60 marks
6 min 16 sec to 6 min 30 sec – 40 marks
6 Min 31 sec and above – Fail

Pull Ups:

18 to 30 years – 10 or more pull ups: 40 marks, 9 pull ups: 33 marks, 8 pull ups: 27 marks, 7 pull ups: 21 marks, 6 pull ups: 16 marks, 5 or less pull ups: Fail.
31 to 42 years – 9 or more pull ups: 40 marks, 8 pull ups: 33 marks, 7 pull ups: 27 marks, 6 pull ups: 21 marks, 5 pull ups: 16 marks, 4 or less pull ups: Fail.

Balance and 9 feet Ditch: These are qualifying tests and no marks will be awarded.

Note: For Soldier Clerk category, 1 Mile run, Pull ups will be qualifying test and no marks will be awarded.

Trade Test:

Soldier Clerk – Information Technology/ Computer Proficiency test (the candidates will be tested on awareness of office use software, typing, basic hardware knowledge etc as required for a Clerk in a unit).
Tradesmen – Efficiency in their respective trade.

Written Examination (CEE):

Candidates who qualify the physical and medical examination will have to appear for Written Examination (CEE) carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi). The written examination will consist of one paper (objective type) of 02 hours duration and will be of Class 10th/8th level (as applicable) and will have the following CBSE syllabus:

Soldier General Duty and Tradesmen:

(i) General Knowledge having 20 questions of 02 marks each.
(ii) General Science having 15 questions of 02 marks each.
(iii) Elementary Maths having 15 questions of 02 marks.

Soldier Clerk:

(i) General Knowledge & General Science having 10 questions of 02 marks each.
(ii) Elementary Maths & Computer science having 15 questions of 02 marks each.
(iii) General English having 25 questions of 02 marks each.

There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer. The marking pattern will be 2 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each wrong answer and 0 marks for unattempted questions. To pass the written exam, candidates must obtain a minimum of 32 marks for Soldier General Duty and Tradesman and 40 marks for Soldier Clerk respectively.

Date of written exam (CEE) will be communicated at a later stage to all candidates passing physical, medical examinations and trade tests (wherever applicable). Preparation of final merit list (result) will be carried out only for those candidates who pass physical fitness tests, medical test, trade tests (wherever applicable), written examination and screening/ aptitude test (wherever applicable).

Documents Required for TA Zone-1 Rally

Candidates are required to carry the following certificates/ documents in original and two sets of photostat copies of each, duly attested, to the TA Zone-1 rally site:

1. Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths or 10th Class Board Certificate showing date of birth.

2. Education certificate with marks sheet of all educational qualifications achieved by candidate. Candidates with matric certificate from Open School should bring School Leaving Certificate countersigned by BEO/DEO. For 8th Class Pass Candidates, 8th class pass mark sheet and transfer cert issued by school (both cert) should be countersigned by District Inspector of School/ District Education Officer.

3. Domicile Certificate with photograph issued by Tehsildar/ District Magistrate.

4. Caste/ Tribe/ Community certificate affixed with photograph of the candidate issued by the Tehsildar/ Sub Divisional Magistrate/ District Magistrate.

5. Religion Certificate to be issued by the Tehsildar/ SDM (if religion as “SIKH/ HINDU/ MUSLIM/ CHRISTIAN” is not mentioned in caste certificate).

6. Character Certificate with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/ Municipal Corporation/ SHO/ Head of Educational Institute within last six months.

7. Married/ unmarried certificates issued by Village Sarpanch/ Municipal Corporation within last six months.

8. Relationship certificate issued from respective Record Office (for candidates who are Son of Serving Solider/ Son of Ex Serviceman/ Sons of Widow/ Son of War Widow).

9. Sports Certificates issued by National/ State Sports Authorities or Government bodies of particular sports (if held).

10. PAN Card & AADHAR Card.

11. Twenty 20 copies of unattested Passport size colour photographs developed on good quality photographic paper in white background not more than three months old.
