SSC CHSL DEO LDC JSA Examination 2025-26
Pay Scale:
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) – Rs 19900-63200 (Pay Level-2).
Data Entry Operator (DEO) – Rs 25500-81100 (Pay Level-4) and Rs 29200-92300 (Pay Level-5).
Data Entry Operator Grade A – Rs 25500-81100 (Pay Level-4).
Total Number of Vacancies – Approx 3131 Posts (Group C). Post-wise and category-wise vacancy details will be intimated after finalization by the Commission as reported by various departments.

Age Limit – 18 to 27 years as on 01.01.2026 i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1999 and not later than 01.01.2008. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories will be applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification:
For DEO/ DEO Grade A – 12th Pass (10+2) in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent examination pass.
For LDC/ JSA and DEO/ DEO Grade A (except above) – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent examination pass from a recognized Board or University.
Candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examination can also apply, however they must possess essential qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e. 01-01-2026.

SSC CHSL Selection Process and Exam Scheme
The selection process consists of Tier-I (Computer Based Examination), Tier-II (Computer Based Examination, Computer Knowledge Test and Skill/ Typing Test) and Document Verification as follows:
Tier-I (Computer Based Examination)
The Tier-I Exam will consist of 100 Objective Type Multiple choice questions of maximum 200 Marks (02 Marks each). The duration of the Tier-I Exam will be for 01 Hour. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi (except Part 1). There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer given by candidates.
The question paper includes 04 parts as per the exam scheme below:
- English Language (Basic Knowledge): 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Intelligence: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill): 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Awareness: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
Tier-II (Computer Based Examination)
Candidates qualified in Tier-I will be allowed to appear for the Tier-II Exam. The Tier-II will be conducted in two sessions i.e. Session-I and Session-II, on same day. Tier-II will consist of objective type multiple choice questions (except for Section-IV) as per the scheme below.
There will be negative marking of 01 Mark for each wrong answer given by candidates in Section-I, Section-II and Section-III. It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of Tier-II. The Tier-II Exam includes the following 04 sections:
Section I:
Mathematical Abilities – 30 Questions (90 Marks)
Reasoning and General Intelligence – 30 Questions (90 Marks)
Section II:
English Language and Comprehension – 40 Questions (120 Marks)
General Awareness – 20 Questions (60 Marks)
Section III:
Computer Knowledge Test – 15 Questions/ 45 Marks (Qualifying nature)
Section IV:
Skill Test for DEOs – 15 Minutes (Qualifying nature)
Typing Test for LDC/JSA – 10 Minutes (Qualifying nature)
Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Section-III of Tier-II Examination are as follows:
UR Category – 30% Marks
OBC/ EWS Category – 25% Marks
All other categories – 20% Marks
Skill Test/ Typing Test
Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade A – Data Entry Speed of 15000/ 8000 Key Depressions per hour on Computer will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 minutes.
Typing Test for LDC/ JSA – The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 wpm and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 wpm. 35 wpm and 30 wpm correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
For selection, Merit List (Result) will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I and Section-II of Tier-II exam only subject to qualifying Section-III and Section-IV of Tier-II. Final selection of candidates will be based on overall performance in Tier-II Exam and preferences of Posts/ Departments submitted by them.
Document Verification
After declaration of the final result, candidates will have to submit copies of various documents as given below at the time of document verification:
1. Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate.
2. Educational Qualification Certificate.
3. Order/ letter in respect of equivalent Educational Qualifications claimed.
4. Caste/ Category Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories.
5. Persons with Disabilities Certificate in the required format (if applicable).
6. Discharge Certificate, Serving Defence Personnel Certificate (if applicable) and Undertaking in prescribed format (for Ex-Servicemen).
7. Relevant Certificate if seeking any age relaxation.
8. No Objection Certificate, in case already employed in Govt/ Govt undertakings.
9. Relevant documents for claiming change in name after matriculation on marriage or remarriage or divorce, etc.
10. Any other document specified in the Admission Certificate for DV.

Admit Card and Examination Centres
SSC CHSL Admit Card can be downloaded from the concerned Regional/ Sub Regional websites about 02 Weeks before the date of examination. Candidates are required to indicate the centre of examination opted by him/her, in the Application Form in respect of the CHSL Examination. Application Form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for the SSC CHSL Exam for Group C Vacancies through the website ssc.gov.in from 23rd Jun to 18th Jul 2025. The process of filling online application consists of two parts as One Time Registration and Filling of online Application for the Examination. You have to complete the both parts for successful submission of online application.
Before applying online, keep ready a Mobile Number, Email ID, ID Proof, Educational details and scanned copies of passport size photograph (20 to 50 Kb) and signature (10 to 20 Kb) in JPEG format. Candidates are advised to read the instructions and fill all the required details carefully while filling up the online form.
Application Fee: Rs 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Candidates can pay the requisite fee online by using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit Cards. SC, ST, Women, Persons with Disabilities and Ex-serviceman candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
