Delhi Police Constable (Driver) Recruitment 2025-2026
Pay Scale – Rs 21700-69100 Pay Level-3 (Old scale Rs 5200-20200 Pay Band-1 with GP Rs 2000).
Age Limit – 21 to 30 years as on 01-07-2025 i.e. candidates should be born between 02-07-1995 and 01-07-2004. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Sportsperson, Departmental candidate of Delhi Police, Ex-Servicemen and other categories will be applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification – 12th Pass (Senior Secondary) from a recognized Board. Candidate should be able to drive heavy vehicles with confidence and must possess a valid driving license for HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicles) with knowledge of maintenance of vehicles.
Total Number of Vacancies – 737 Posts (Group C)

Selection Process, Pattern and Physical Test
SSC Delhi Police Driver selection process consists of Computer Based Exam (CBE), Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE and MT), Trade Test, Document Verification and Medical Examination. The CBE will be conducted by SSC at the centers of concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional Office during December 2025/ January 2026 (tentative).
Thereafter PE&MT (qualifying in nature) of CBE qualified candidates will be conducted by the Delhi Police in Delhi only. PE and MT Admit Card will be issued to shortlisted candidates (20 times of the number of vacancies) by Delhi Police through its official website.
Final selection will be based on the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in Computer Based Examination subject to qualifying the PE&MT, trade test and other conditions.
Computer Based Examination (CBE)
The computer based exam will consist of one objective type multiple choice question paper of 90 Minutes duration containing total 100 Questions (01 mark each) carrying maximum 100 Marks.
The exam will be of Matriculation level and will be conducted in English and Hindi only. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer given by candidates. The question paper will comprise of four parts as per the pattern below:
- Part A (General Awareness): 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Part B (General Intelligence): 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Part C (Numerical Ability): 10 Questions (10 Marks)
- Part D (Road Sense, Vehicle Maintenance, Traffic Rules/ Signals vehicle & environmental pollution i.e. petrol and diesel vehicle, CNG operated vehicle, Noise pollution etc.): 50 Questions (50 Marks)
The detailed SSC Delhi Police Driver Syllabus is given below.
Cut-off marks for qualifying in Computer Based Examination:
Unreserved/ EWS – 40 Marks
SC/ ST/ OBC – 35 Marks
Ex-serviceman (ESM) – 30 Marks
Bonus marks for NCC Certificate Holders:
NCC C Certificate – 5% of the maximum marks of the exam.
NCC B Certificate – 3% of the maximum marks of the exam.
NCC A Certificate – 2% of the maximum marks of the exam.
Physical Endurance Test (PE)
Race – 1600 Meters within 07 Minutes for candidates up to 30 years, within 08 Minutes for candidates above 30 to 40 years and within 09 Minutes for candidates above 40 years.
Long Jump – 12½ Feet for candidates up to 30 years, 11½ Feet for candidates above 30 to 40 years and 10½ Feet for candidates above 40 years.
High Jump – 3½ Feet for candidates up to 30 years, 3¼ Feet for candidates above 30 to 40 years and 3 Feet for candidates above 40 years.

Physical Measurement Test (MT)
Height – 170 Cms.
Chest – 81-85 Cms.
Relaxation of 05 Cms in Height and Chest will be applicable for ST candidates, Sons of Delhi Police personnel and Hill Area candidates i.e. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir valley/ region of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh.
Trade Test (Qualifying)
Candidates qualified in the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE and MT) will be called for Trade Test (qualifying in nature) and Document Verification. The trade test will of maximum 150 marks. Candidates will have obtain at least the minimum qualifying marks as given below to be allowed for appearing in further process.
1. Driving (Light Motor Vehicle) – Driving (Forward): 20 Marks, Driving (Reverse): 20 Marks and Parking: 10 Marks.
Qualifying Marks: 25 Marks (50% in each test).
2. Driving (Heavy Motor Vehicle) – Driving (Forward): 20 Marks, Driving (Reverse): 20 Marks and Parking: 10 Marks.
Qualifying Marks: 25 Marks (50% in each test).
3. Knowledge of traffic signs/road sense/ basic Driving rules like lane driving, overtaking procedure, road-map reading, assessment of shortest possible route etc – 25 Marks.
Qualifying Marks: 12.5 Marks (50%).
4. Knowledge of maintenance of vehicle i.e. tyre pressure, battery water level, Quantity & grade of oils to be used, Coolant, tension of belts/hose pipes etc – 25 Marks.
Qualifying Marks: 12.5 Marks (50%).
Document Verification (DV)
All the candidates selected on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Examination and qualified in all the events of PE/MT are required to appear for Document Verification and Trade Test.
Candidates have to bring two passport-sized recent colour photographs and one original valid Photo ID Proof while appearing for the Document Verification (DV). Candidates must bring the photocopies and originals of the following documents:
1. Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate.
2. Essential Educational Qualification Certificate.
3. Driving License.
4. Caste/ Category Certificate, if it belongs to the reserved category.
5. Hill Area Certificate, if applicable.
6. Serving Defence Personnel Certificate/ NOC, Undertaking and Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen (ESM).
7. Relevant Certificate if seeking any age relaxation.
8. Wards Certificate issued to wards of Delhi Police personnel/ Multi Tasking Staff of Delhi Police, if applicable.
9. Sports Certificate, if applicable.
10. Certificate of Departmental candidates of Delhi Police, if applicable.
11. No Objection Certificate, in case already employed in Govt/ Govt undertakings.
12. NCC Certificate- A, B or C, if applicable.
13. RRU Certificate, if applicable.
14. Any other document specified in the Admission Certificate for the PE&MT/ DV/ Trade Test.

SSC Delhi Police Driver Syllabus 2025-2026
The syllabus for the Computer Based Examination (CBE) is as follows:
General Awareness – General awareness, knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.
The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Reasoning – Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type.
This part may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observations, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasons and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding etc.
Numerical Ability – This part will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work etc.
Trade Related – This part will include questions related to road sense, vehicle maintenance, traffic rules/ signals/ signages, vehicle & environmental pollution, petrol and diesel vehicle, CNG operated vehicle, Noise pollution etc.

Online form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for the SSC Delhi Police Driver Recruitment through the website ssc.gov.in from 24th September to 15th October 2025.
For submitting online application, firstly you will have to complete the One-Time Registration process. Thereafter you can apply for the Constable Driver Examination with Registration Number and Password provided by the system at the time of registration.
You are advised to read the instructions carefully and fill all the required details while filling up the one-time registration form and the application form.
Application fee – Candidates will have to pay Rs 100/- as application fee. The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. SC, ST and Ex-serviceman are exempted from payment of fee.
