IB Junior Intelligence Officer Recruitment 2025-2026
Total Number of Vacancies – 394 Posts (Group C)
Pay Scale – Rs 25500-81100 (Pay matrix level 4) plus admissible Central Government allowances. Special Security Allowance 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt allowances. Cash compensation for duty performed on holidays, maximum 30 days.

Age Limit – The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 27 years as on 14 Sep 2025. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit for departmental candidates, ex-servicemen, sportspersons and other categories will be applicable as per govt rules.
Educational Qualification – Diploma in Engineering in the fields of Electronics or Electronics & Tele-communication or Electronics & Communication or Electrical & Electronics or Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Computer Applications from a Govt recognized University/ Institute. OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Electronics or Computer Science or Physics or Mathematics from a Government recognized University/ Institute. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications from a Govt recognized University/ Institute.

IB JIO Selection Process, Exam Pattern and Centers
The selection process consists of Tier-I (Online Exam), Tier-II (Skill Test), Tier-III (Interview/ Personality Test) followed by Character & Antecedent verification and medical examination.
The Tier-I online exam consists of objective type MCQs (100 questions) based on General Mental Ability (25%) and Combination of subjects as per essential qualifications (75%). Negative marking of ¼ marks will be applicable for each wrong answer.
Cut-off marks (out of 100) in Tier-I exam: UR- 35 Marks, OBC- 34 Marks, SC/ST- 33 Marks and EWS- 35 Marks (all Ex-servicemen will be treated in their own category as UR/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS).
On the basis of performance and normalization of marks in Tier-I exam, candidates 05 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Skill Test and Personal Interview. For selection, category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III exam.
The final selection to the post of Junior Intelligence Officer Grade II/ Technical under IB (MHA) will be subject to successful completion of character and antecedents verification followed by medical examination.

Application form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and desirous candidates are required to apply online for IB Junior Intelligence Officer Recruitment through the website www.mha.gov.in up to 14th September 2025.
Before applying online, keep ready your valid E-mail ID, Mobile number, scanned images of photograph (100-200 kb) and signature (80-150 kb), Photo ID proof and 10th/ 12th/ Diploma/ Graduation Certificates/ Marksheets. After successful submission, you are advised to take a printout of the application form for all future references.
Important steps for submitting IB JIO Application form:
- Step 1: Registration of Personal & Contact details. Login Id and password will be sent to you through E-Mail on your registered E-Mail ID.
- Step 2: Re-login and select the category and fill up the Personal Details, Qualification Details, Upload photo & signature and submit examination fees (if applicable) and Recruitment Processing Charges (to be paid by all the candidates) through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI/ Challan.
Examination fee – Male candidates of UR, EWS and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 650/- (Exam Fee plus Recruitment Processing Charges). While, all other candidates will have to pay Rs 550/- (Recruitment Processing Charges). Payment can be made online by using Debit Card (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI challan etc.
