IB ACIO Recruitment, Online Form & Exam Pattern (3717 Posts)

Intelligence Bureau (IB) invites applications for the following 3717 Vacancies of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (Grade II/ Executive) Group C by direct recruitment. All eligible male and female Indian citizens can apply online for IB ACIO Bharti Vacancies through mha.gov.in from 19 July to 10 August 2025. Intelligence Bureau ACIO Gr II Exe Recruitment 2025-2026

Post Name and Classification – ACIO-II/Exe (General Central Service, Group C, Non-Gazetted and Non-Ministerial).

Pay Scale – ₹ 44900-142400 in the pay matrix level-7 plus admissible Central Govt allowances. Special Security Allowance @ 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt allowances. Cash compensation for duty performed on holidays, up to a maximum of 30 days.

Age Limit – 18 to 27 years as on 10 Aug 2025. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-servicemen, meritorious sportspersons, departmental candidates and other categories is applicable as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification – The candidate must possess Graduation or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Knowledge of Computer is the desired qualification.

Total Number of Vacancies – 3717 Posts (Group C)

IB ACIO Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of Tier-I (Objective Exam), Tier-II (Descriptive Exam) and Tier-III (Interview) followed by Character & Antecedent verification and Medical examination, details of which are given below.

Tier-I (Objective Exam)

The duration of the exam will be of 01 hour and it will consist of 100 objective type multiple choice questions carrying maximum 100 marks (01 mark each). There will be negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer given by the candidates.

The online exam will be divided into five sections such as Current Affairs, General Studies, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning/ Logical Aptitude and English as per the marking pattern given below.

  • Current Affairs: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • General Studies: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • Numerical Aptitude: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • Reasoning/ Logical Aptitude: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • English: 20 Questions (20 Marks)

Cut-off marks (out of 100) in Tier-I exam:

UR/ EWS Category – 35 Marks
OBC Category – 34 Marks
SC/ ST Category – 33 Marks
Ex-servicemen will be treated in their own category.

Candidates must keep the following documents ready in original along with their attested copies immediately after declaration of Tier-I Result:

1. Matric/ Secondary School certificate or equivalent showing name and date of birth.
2. Intermediate/ Higher Secondary (12th) certificate or equivalent, if acquired.
3. Graduation/ Post Graduation Degree or Provisional degree and mark sheet of graduation/ post-graduation from a recognized university.
4. OBC certificate, if applicable, from competent authority in prescribed format.
5. EWS certificate, if applicable.
6. SC/ST certificate, if applicable.
7. NOC from the present employer, if applicable.
8. Sufficient number of photographs, identical to the one uploaded.
9. Certificate/ document issued from the competent authority in support of age relaxation, if applicable.
10. Ex-servicemen discharge certificate, Widow/ Divorcee certificate, Meritorious sportsperson certificate etc.

Tier-II (Descriptive Exam)

Candidates declared qualified on the basis of their performance and normalization of marks in Tier-I Exam will be called for Tier-II Examination carrying maximum 50 marks. Candidates for Tier-II will be selected 10 times the number of vacancies, provided the candidate has secured the minimum cut-off marks in Tier-I. Date, time and centre of Tier-II will be informed to the successful candidates through registered email.

The question paper of Tier-II examination will be of 01 hour duration and will consist of the following descriptive type questions:

  • Essay (20 marks)
  • English comprehension (10 marks)
  • Long answer type 02 questions of 10 marks each on Current Affairs, Economics, Socio-political issues etc (20 marks).

Tier-III (Interview)

Candidates declared qualified on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II will be called for Tier-III (Interview) carrying maximum 100 marks. Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-III in proportion to 5 times the number of vacancies, provided the candidate obtains a minimum of 33% marks (17 out of 50) in Tier-II exam. Date, Time and Centre of Tier-III (Interview) will be informed to the successful candidates through registered email.

For final selection, candidates will be shortlisted based on the merit list prepared on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III (Interview), subject to their successful completion of character & antecedent verification, followed by medical test etc.

Note: Exam city once opted will not be changed under any circumstances. Tier-II & Tier-III (Interview) may not be held at all the above mentioned cities/ centres. The department reserves the right to conduct Tier-II and Tier-III (Interview) at a city/ centre by combining candidates from nearby centres.

Application Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online for Khufia Vibhag ACIO Recruitment Officer Vacancies through the website mha.gov.in from 19th July to 10th August 2025. Before applying online, keep ready your valid e-mail ID, mobile number, scanned image of photograph (100-200 KB) and signature (80-150 KB) in JPG/JPEG format, photo ID proof and class 10th/ 12th/ UG/ PG certificate and mark sheet.

Important steps to submit IB ACIO Online Application Form:

Step-I: Registration of personal and contact details. On completion of Step-I registration, you will receive a message on your registered email ID containing the Login ID (Application Sequence Number) and Password.

Step-II: Login again and select the category and fill other details in the application form like personal details, qualification details and declaration etc. After this, you have to upload the photo and signature and pay the application fee (as applicable).

After successful submission of the online application, take a printout of the form for future references. There is no need to send any documents or hard copy of online application form by post. All information related to ACIO Recruitment like exam date, time, centre, admit card (call letter) etc will be informed through official website and registered email ID.

Examination fees:

UR/ EWS/ OBC Male candidates – ₹ 650/- (Examination Fee ₹ 100/- + Recruitment Processing Charges ₹ 550).
All other candidates – ₹ 550 (Recruitment Processing Charges).

The fee can be paid online via SBI EPAY LITE through Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI challan etc.
