Age, Qualification and Physical Standards

Age Limit – 18 to 25 years as on 23 Aug 2025. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC category and other special categories will be applicable as per Central Govt rules issued from time to time.

Educational Qualification:

Constable (Carpenter, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Pump Operator and Upholster) – 10th Pass or equivalent from a recognized Board and 02 years certificate course from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade; OR 01 year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute or Government affiliated Vocational Institute with at least 01 year experience in the trade.

Constable (Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper and Khoji/ Syce) – 10th Pass or equivalent from a recognized Board and candidate must be proficient in respective trade. Must qualify trade test in the respective trade conducted by recruitment board.

Constable (Cook, Water Carrier and Waiter) – 10th Pass or equivalent from a recognized Board and National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) level-I Course in food production or Kitchen from National Skill Development Corporation or from the Institutes recognized by National Skill Development Corporation.

Male Candidates (Height and Chest):

GEN/ OBC/ SC Candidates – Height: 165 Cms and Chest: 75-80 Cms

Candidates have the choice to appear for the recruitment at only one centre i.e the centre which he/she opts while filling online application. The recruitment centre for the first and second phase exam may change if required due to administrative reason as well as depending upon the number of candidates.

Online Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates will have to register and submit online application form for BSF Constable Tradesman Recruitment through rectt.bsf.gov.in from 25th July to 23rd August 2025. You are allowed to apply for only one post/trade.

Before applying online, keep ready educational qualification details, email Id, mobile number and scanned copies of passport size photograph (30 to 100 kb), signature (20 to 50 kb), thumb Impression (max 50 kb) and essential documents (30 to 100 kb). The essential documents/ certificates are 10th Pass certificate, work experience, domicile, Caste and Relaxation certificate (if applicable).

To apply online for the BSF Tradesman Recruitment, follow the important steps below:

STEP I (One Time Registration) – Firstly go to the One Time Registration (OTR) Page and fill the basic information as Candidate’s Name, Mobile Number and E-mail ID. On submission the basic details, Registration ID and Password will be generated and sent to you through registered Email Id and Mobile number.

STEP II (Filling of Online Application) – Now login to the recruitment portal using your Registration ID and Password (generated in Step 1). Fill the application form with all the required details as personal information, address, qualification, work experience, certificate/ document and other details and upload photograph, signature, thumb impression and essential documents.

STEP III (Payment of Exam fee) – Finally, pay the application fee (if applicable) through online mode using Net banking, Debit Card, Credit Card and nearest Common Service Centre. Thereafter take a printout of online application form for record/ reference. Printout of application form is not required to be sent to BSF.

Examination fee: Rs 100/-
The examination fee can be paid through Net banking, Debit Card, Credit Card and nearest Common Service Centre. SC/ST, BSF Serving personnel, Ex-servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
