Assam Rifles (AR) has invited applications for the following 69 Vacancies of Rifleman/ Riflewoman GD under Sports Quota (Meritorious Sportsperson). All eligible male and female candidates can apply online for Sports Quota Bharti Vacancies of Boxing, Football, Shooting, Taekwondo, Karate, Fencing, Badminton, Pencak Silat, Athletics etc disciplines. Assam Rifles Sportsperson Vacancies 2025-2026

Pay Scale – Pay scale and other allowances will be as admissible to the Assam Rifles Personnel as per 7th CPC.

Total Number of Vacancies – 69 Posts

Educational Qualification – 10th Pass (Matriculation) from a recognized Board and candidate have participated in any International Competition/ National Competition/ Inter-University Tournaments/ National Sports/ Games for Schools/ Khelo India University Games/ Khelo India Youth Games/ Khelo India Winter Games.

Age Limit (As on 01st Aug 2025):

GEN/ OBC Candidates – 18 to 28 years i.e. candidate should be born between 01 Aug 1997 and 01 Aug 2007.
SC/ ST Candidates – 18 to 33 years i.e. candidate should be born between 01 Aug 1992 and 01 Aug 2007.

Sports Quota Selection Process and Physical PST

The selection process consists of Candidate verification, Initial documentation, Physical standard test (PST), Field trial and Medical examination. Eligible candidates will be issued Call Letter to appear in the recruitment rally at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School Sukhovi, Dimapur (Nagaland) and HQ IGAR (N) Kohima (Nagaland) as follows:

• Boxing, Football, Shooting, Taekwondo, Karate, Sepaktakraw, Fencing, Badminton and Pencak Silat: Assam Rifles Training Centre and School Sukhovi, Dimapur (Nagaland).
• Athletics: HQ IGAR (North) Kohima (Nagaland).

The recruitment rally is scheduled to be held between October to December 2025 (tentatively). The exact date, time and place of recruitment rally will be indicated in the Call letter (Admit card).

Physical Standards Test (PST):

Height:

GEN/ SC/ OBC – Male: 170 Cms and Female: 157 Cms.
ST Candidates (except NE States) – Male: 162.5 Cms and Female: 150 Cms.
ST Candidates (NE States) – Male: 157 Cms and Female: 147.5 Cms.
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh – Male: 165 Cms and Female: 155 Cms.
Candidates belonging to NE States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura – Male: 162.5 Cms and Female: 152.5 Cms.
Candidates hailing from Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) – Male: 157 Cms and Female: 152.5 Cms.

Chest (Only for male candidates):

GEN/ SC/ OBC – 80-85 Cms.
ST Candidates (All) – 76-81 Cms.
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh – 78-83 Cms.
Candidates hailing from Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) and Candidates belonging to NE States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura – 77-82 Cms.

Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per the existing medical standards as applicable to male/ female candidates.

Candidates qualified in all respects i.e. Level of participation/ achievements, Physical Standard Test (PST), Medical Examination Test and performance in Field Trial will be placed in Merit List. Final selection will be done on the basis of achievements, performance in Field Trials and level of participation.

The Final Selection will only be made on the basis of position of the candidates in Merit List in accordance with the availability of vacancies in the respective sports discipline.

Application form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit online application form for Assam Rifles Sports Quota Recruitment Rally through the website www.assamrifles.gov.in up to 15th September 2025.

To apply online, provide all the required details such as name, date of birth, gender, marital status, aadhaar number, identification marks, category, mobile number, email id, educational qualification, address etc correctly in the online form. After successful registration of online form take a printout of the computer generated application form for further requirements.

All candidates will have to produce the printed copy of online application form, copy of Admit Card/ Call Letter (downloaded from the official website) and original copy of payment receipt/ challan at the time of PST, Field Trial and Medical Examination.

Application fee:
GEN/ OBC candidates are required to pay Rs 100/- as application fee by depositing into SBI Current Account Number 37088046712 in favour of Recruitment Branch, HQ DGAR, Shillong-793010 payable at SBI HQ DGAR Laitkor Branch IFSC Code-SBIN0013883. SC, ST and Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
