Uttarakhand School Education Department has released district wise notifications for recruitment to the vacant posts of Assistant Teacher Primary (Special Education). Applications for these posts are being invited by the office of the concerned District Education Officer (Elementary Education). Primary Special Education Teacher Recruitment 2026
Pay Scale – ₹35400-112400 (Level-6).
Educational Qualification – A permanent resident of Uttarakhand state who has:
1. Passed a Bachelor’s degree from a university established by law in India.
2. Obtained a two-year D.Ed (Special Education) degree recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or an equivalent diploma training degree recognized by RCI, under the provisions contained in the Uttarakhand State Government Primary Education (Teacher) Service Rules 2012 as amended in 2025, and has passed the Teacher Eligibility Test-I conducted by the State Government/ Central Government under the guidelines formulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). (Appointment letter will be issued only upon submission of the original mark sheet).
3. The Assistant Teacher Primary (Special Education) appointed for teaching children with special needs will be required to compulsorily complete a 6-month bridge course in primary education recognized by NCTE after appointment.
Reservation – Reservation for candidates belonging to reserved categories and other such categories will be admissible as per the State Government orders in force at the time of recruitment.
Age Limit – The candidate’s age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 42 years as on 01 July 2025. However, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and other categories of Uttarakhand state, as notified by the State Government from time to time, relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per rules.

The above list of vacancies is being updated as per the notification issued for the respective district, stay connected for vacancy details of remaining districts. Horizontal reservation will be applicable in the state of Uttarakhand as per the government orders issued from time to time.
Candidates who are not found eligible as per the terms and conditions of the advertisement will have their candidature cancelled and their claim for appointment will not be considered valid.
No male candidate shall be eligible for appointment to any post in the service if he has more than one wife living, nor shall any female candidate be eligible who has married a man already having a wife living; provided that the Government may exempt any person from the operation of this rule if it is satisfied that there are special reasons for doing so.

Eligibility Required for Special Education Teacher (Primary)
उत्तराखण्ड लोक सेवा आयोग की परिधि के बाहर समूह ‘ग’ के सीधी भर्ती के पदों पर भर्ती हेतु निम्नलिखित अनिवार्य / वांछनीय अर्हताओं में से एक होनी आवश्यक है:-
(i) उत्तराखण्ड राज्य का स्थाई निवासी हो।
(ii) अभ्यर्थी का उत्तराखण्ड राज्य के किसी भी जनपद के सेवायोजन कार्यालय में पंजीकरण हो।
(iii) उत्तराखण्ड शासन कार्मिक एवं सतर्कता अनुभाग के कार्यालय ज्ञाप संख्या- 59 दिनांक 07.02. 2019 एवं कार्यालय ज्ञाप संख्या-164 दिनांक 28.06.2019 के अनुसार “उत्तराखण्ड लोक सेवा आयोग की परिधि के अन्तर्गत तथा लोक सेवा आयोग की परिधि के बाहर समूह ‘ग’ (Samuh G) के सीधी भर्ती के पदों पर भर्ती हेतु आवेदन करने के लिए वही अभ्यर्थी पात्र होगा, जिसने अपनी हाईस्कूल एवं इण्टरमीडिएट एवं इनके समकक्ष स्तर की शिक्षा उत्तराखण्ड राज्य में स्थित मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थानों से प्राप्त की हो,
परन्तु यह कि सैनिक / अर्द्धसैनिक बलों में कार्यरत तथा राज्य सरकार अथवा उसके अधीन स्थापित किसी राजकीय / अर्द्धशासकीय संस्था में नियमित पदों पर नियमित रूप से नियुक्त कार्मिकों एवं केन्द्र सरकार अथवा केन्द्र सरकार के सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों में नियमित पदों पर नियमित रूप से उत्तराखण्ड में कार्यरत ऐसे कर्मी, जिनकी सेवायें उत्तराखण्ड से बाहर स्थानान्तरित नहीं हो सकती हों, स्वयं अथवा उनके पति / पत्नी, जैसी भी स्थिति हो, तथा उनके पुत्र / पुत्री, राज्याधीन सेवाओं में समूह ‘ग’ के सीधी भर्ती के पदों पर चयन हेतु आवेदन के पात्र होंगे, परन्तु यह और कि राज्य के स्थायी निवासी जो आजीविका / अध्ययन हेतु उत्तराखण्ड से बाहर निवासरत हैं, के स्वयं अथवा उनके पति / पत्नी, जैसी भी स्थिति हो तथा उनके पुत्र / पुत्री भी समूह ‘ग’ के सीधी भर्ती के पदों पर आवेदन हेतु पात्र होंगे”।

Application Form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates can apply for Uttarakhand Primary Teacher (Special Education) Recruitment in the prescribed application form given along with the official notification (download below).
Along with the application form, candidates must enclose clear and legible self-attested photocopies of their required educational certificates (clearly indicating the marks obtained and total marks for both written and practical subjects in the details of educational and training qualifications in the application form) and a self-addressed envelope with postage stamps for the required amount.
The Selection Committee will verify the details in the application forms and the attached educational/ training and other certificates against the original documents of the candidates. The date for document verification will be notified separately through an announcement.

Duly filled application forms will be accepted by registered/ speed post at the office of the concerned District Education Officer (Elementary Education) by 5:00 PM on the dates given below. No application received after the stipulated date and time will be accepted. Applications received by ordinary post/ courier/ hand delivery will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The envelope containing the application form must be clearly marked in bold letters with “Application for Assistant Teacher Primary (Special Education) District _____ Advertisement No. _____“. The concerned office will not be responsible for any delay caused by the post office.
All columns of the application form must be clearly and completely filled by the candidates and no column should be left incomplete or blank. Application forms will be rejected if they are unclear, ambiguous or misleading. Application forms not submitted in the prescribed format will also be rejected.
