SSB Selection Process Paramedical ASI HC, PET PST, Exam Pattern

SSB Paramedical ASI Steno HC Ministerial Selection Process

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

SSB Selection Process, PET PST, Exam Pattern, Paramedical, ASI Steno, HC Ministerial Candidates whose application forms are found to be in order will be issued Admit Card to appear for the SSB Selection Process. After bio-metric, photograph and signature identification candidates will be allowed for the recruitment tests. Under the SSB Selection Process, PET will be conducted in the first stage for all the posts (SI, ASI and HC). The PET will be of qualifying nature and it will not carry any marks.
Race (Male) – 3.2 Kms within 14 minutes
Race (Female) – 1.6 Kms within 08.30 minutes

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

In this stage of SSB Selection Process, candidates qualified in the PET will have to undergo PST (Height, Chest and Weight measurement) as given category wise below.

Gen/ SC/ OBC Category – 170 Cms (165 Cms for ASI Steno and HC Min posts)
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir – 165 Cms (162.5 Cms for ASI Steno and HC Min posts)
ST Category – 162.5 Cms
Chest
Gen/ SC/ OBC Category – 80-85 Cms (77-82 Cms for ASI Steno and HC Min posts)
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir – 78-83 Cms (77-82 Cms for ASI Steno and HC Min posts)
ST Category – 76-81 Cms
Weight – Proportionate to height and age

Female candidates:
Height
Gen/ SC/ OBC Category – 157 Cms (155 Cms for ASI Steno and HC Min posts)
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir – 155 Cms
ST Category – 150 Cms
Chest – Not applicable
Weight – Proportionate to height and age

3. Documentation

Candidates qualified in the PST will undergo the Documentation process. Candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as filled in the application form.

4. Written Exam

Candidates qualified in the PST, PET and Documentation will be allowed to appear in the Written Exam.
Exam Syllabus/ Pattern – The written exam will consist of two papers such as Paper-1 and Paper-2 (Technical Exam) of 02 hours duration each.
Paper 1 (for all posts) – The question paper will be of total 100 Marks and will consist of 100 objective type questions based on General Knowledge, Numerical Ability, General Reasoning, General English & Hindi. To qualify in Paper-1, you will have to score minimum 50% Marks for Gen/ OBC and 45% Marks for SC/ ST candidates.
Paper 2 (for SI Staff Nurse, ASI Pharmacist, OT Technician, Dental Technician & Radiographer) – The question paper will consist of 100 objective type questions based on technical subject. To qualify in Paper-2, you will have to score minimum 50% Marks for Gen/ OBC and 45% Marks for SC/ ST candidates.
Paper 2 (for ASI Steno and HC Ministerial) – Paper 2 for ASI Steno and HC Ministerial will consist of descriptive type questions to test the writing capability, comprising 01 question from each part below:

  • Essay Writing – 25 Marks
  • Precis Writing – 25 Marks
  • Letter writing – 25 Marks
  • Comprehension – 25 Marks

To qualify in this paper, it’s required to score minimum 50% Marks for Gen/ OBC candidates and 45% Marks for SC/ ST candidates (including ex-servicemen).

Skill Test (for ASI Steno & HC Ministerial) – Candidates qualified in the Written Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be called for Skill Test (qualifying in nature) as follows:
ASI (Steno) – Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute and Transcription time: 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.
Head Constable (Ministerial) – English Typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute or Hindi Typing with minimum speed of 30 words per minute on computer (corresponding to 10500 key depressions per hour in English or 9000 key depressions per hour in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each word)

5. Merit List

– For the posts of SI (Staff Nurse) and ASI (Pharmacist, OT Technician, Dental Technician & Radiographer), the merit list (result) will be prepared on the basis of Written Exam Paper-2 marks only. For the posts of ASI Stenographer and Head Constable Ministerial, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in Written Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2.

6. Medical Examination

Finally, on the basis of written exam merit list candidates will be called for Detailed Medical examination. Candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions.
Final Selection – After completion of Review Medical Examination, post and category wise final merit lists will be prepared on the basis of cut off marks fixed by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as per the available vacancies.
