Intelligence Bureau MTS Recruitment Exam for 362 Posts

Intelligence Bureau (IB) invites applications for the following 362 Vacancies of Multi-Tasking Staff (General) or MTS(G). All eligible Indian citizens can apply online for IB Multi Tasking Staff Bharti Vacancies through MHA Application Portal up to 14 December 2025. Intelligence Bureau MTS (G) Recruitment 2025-2026

Total Number of Vacancies – 362 Posts (Group C).

Post Name and Classification – Multi-Tasking Staff (General) MTS(G) (General Central Service, Group C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial).

Pay Scale – Rs 18000-56900 Pay matrix level-1 plus admissible Central Govt allowances. Special Security Allowance 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt allowances. Cash compensation for duty performed on holidays, maximum 30 days.

Age Limit – The age of the candidate for IB MTS (G) should be between 18 to 25 years as on 14 Dec 2025. Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable for SC/ST (05 years), OBC (03 years), Ex-servicemen, sportspersons and other categories as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent from a recognized Board. The candidate must have domicile certificate of the state for which he/she has applied.

IB MTS Selection Process and Exam Syllabus

The recruitment process consists of Tier-I (objective type online exam), Tier-II (Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension), Character & Antecedent verification and Medical examination, as follows:

Tier-I (Objective Type)

MTS Tier I online exam will be of 01 Hour duration and consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each) of maximum 100 Marks. There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer. Question paper for the IB MTS Tier 1 Exam will be divided into 04 Parts as per the pattern below:

  • General Awareness: 40 Questions (40 Marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • Numerical/ Analytical/ Logical Ability and Reasoning: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • English Language: 20 Questions (20 Marks)

Minimum 30 marks for UR/EWS, 28 marks for OBC and minimum 25 marks for SC/ST candidates are mandatory to qualify the Tier-I Exam. On the basis of performance in Tier-I exam, candidates 10 times the number of vacancies will be called for Tier-II exam.

Tier-II (Descriptive Type)

Candidates declared qualified and shortlisted in Tier-I Exam will be allowed to appear for the MTS Tier-II Exam (Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension) of maximum 50 Marks. The exam will be of 01 Hour duration and qualifying in nature.

The test consists of questions on Basics of English Language, its vocabulary, correct grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage etc to test comprehension and paragraph writing in 150 words. The qualifying marks in Tier-II is 20 out of 50.

Merit List and Selection

For selection to the post of IB MTS (General), category wise merit list (result) will be prepared on the basis of performance in Tier-I exam (subject to qualifying in Tier-II). A waiting list will also be prepared for providing replacement in future.

Final selection of candidates will be further subject to successful completion of Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination.

Online Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and desirous candidates are required to submit online application form for Khufiya Vibhag Multi Tasking Staff Vacancies through IB MHA Application Portal from 22 November to 14 December 2025.

Before applying online, keep ready your email id, mobile number, scanned image of color photograph (100-200 KB) & signature (80-150 KB) in jpg/jpeg format, valid photo ID proof and educational certificates (10th/ 12th/ Diploma/ Graduation).

After submitting the online application form, take a printout of the Registration Slip/ form for reference. Any documents or hard copy of online form are not required to be sent by Post.

Examination fee:
UR/ EWS/ OBC candidates – Rs. 650/- (incl recruitment processing charges).
All other candidates – Rs. 550/- (recruitment processing charges).

Male candidates of UR, EWS and OBC categories will have to pay exam fee plus recruitment processing charges. Whereas, all other candidates will have to pay recruitment processing charges only. The requisite fee can be paid online via SBI EPAY LITE through Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI and SBI challan.
