BSF 1121 Head Constable RO & RM Recruitment 2025-2026

Border Security Force has invited applications for the following 1121 Vacancies of HC (Radio Operator) and HC (Radio Mechanic) under Communication Setup (Telecom). Eligible male and female candidates (Direct, LDCE and Compassionate) can apply online for BSF Head Constable RO & RM Bharti Vacancies through rectt.bsf.gov.in from 24 Aug to 23 Sep 2025. BSF HC (RO) & HC (RM) Recruitment 2025-26

Pay Scale and Allowances – Rs 25500-81100 as per 7th CPC Pay matrix level-4 (Old scale Rs 5200-20200 PB-1 with GP Rs 2400).

The allowances include dearness allowance, ration money, dress allowance admissible from time to time, special compensation while posted in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, transport, LTC and any other allowance admissible to the force from time to time under the rules. These posts will be covered under New Pension Scheme/ UPS.

Total Number of Vacancies – 1121 Posts (Group C)

Post and Category wise Vacancy Details:

Head Constable (Radio Operator) – 910 Vacancies

Direct Entry – 683 (UR-197, EWS-42, OBC-250, SC-90, ST-70, CA-34)

Head Constable (Radio Mechanic) – 211 Vacancies

Direct Entry – 158 (UR-46, EWS-11, OBC-58, SC-20, ST-15, CA-08)
Departmental (LDCE) – 53 (UR/EWS/OBC-41, SC-07, ST-05)

Note: The number of vacancies may increase or decrease due to administrative reasons. Out of 75% vacancies set aside for direct recruitment, 10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen and 5% vacancies are reserved for Compassionate Appointment (CA) category. Remaining 25% vacancies are reserved for willing and eligible BSF Constable (GD & Tradesman) under LDCE.

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)

Age Limit (As on 23 Sep 2025):

General Category – 18 to 25 years.
OBC Category – 18 to 28 years.
SC & ST Category – 18 to 30 years.

LDCE (Departmental Entry) – Constable GD/ Tradesman who have rendered minimum 03 years regular and continuous service as on 23 Sep 2025 are eligible to apply for Departmental (LDCE) vacancies. The upper age limit is 40 years for UR/EWS, 43 years for OBC and 45 years for SC/ST candidates.

Ex-Serviceman – After deducting the period of military service from the actual age as on 23 Sep 2025, age relaxation beyond the upper age limit will be given by 03 years for UR category, 06 years for OBC category and 08 years for SC/ST category.

Educational Qualification:

Head Constable (Radio Operator) – Candidate must be 12th Pass (10+2/ Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board or institute and minimum 60% marks in PCM subjects as a regular student. OR

10th Pass (Matriculation) and 02 years Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate in Radio and Television or Electronics Engineering or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant or Data Preparation and Computer Software or General Electronics Engineering or Data Entry Operator from a recognized Institute.

Head Constable (Radio Mechanic) – Candidate must be 12th Pass (10+2/ Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board or institute and minimum 60% marks in PCM subjects as a regular student. OR

10th Pass (Matriculation) and 02 years Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate in Radio and Television or General Electronics or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant or Data Preparation and Computer Software or Electrician or Fitter or Information Technology and Electronics System Maintenance or Communication Equipment Maintenance or Computer Hardware or Network Technician or Mechatronics or Data Entry Operator from a recognized Institute.

Eligibility for BSF LDCE (Departmental Entry) – Serving Constable GD and Tradesman must possess Disc/ Vigilance Clearance Certificate, Bio-data and NOC issued by their appointing authority and Medical Category SHAPE-1 issued by Medical Officer of the concerned Units/ Headquarters up to 23 Sep 2025.

Eligibility for Ex-Serviceman – Candidate have retired from equivalent or higher rank in Army, Navy or Air Force in the same Trade. Full relaxation in physical standards and educational qualification will be applicable. The break-in service should not exceed two years and medical category should be in SHAPE-I.

Eligibility for Compassionate Appointment (CA) – Only children of deceased/ medically boarded out BSF personnel whose applications for CA have been forwarded by the last Unit/ HQ served by their father and whose eligibility to apply under CA has been confirmed and informed to the applicant by ICT Directorate, FHQ BSF New Delhi are eligible to apply under CA category.

Physical Standards and Recruitment Process

Height:

GEN/ OBC/ SC – Male: 168 Cms and Female: 157 Cms.
Garwalies, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir Valley and Leh & Ladakh – Male: 165 Cms and Female: 155 Cms.
ST/ Adivasis or Tribals Including Mizos and Nagas – Male: 162.5 Cms and Female: 154 Cms.

Chest (Only for Male candidates):

GEN/ OBC/ SC – Unexpanded: 80 Cms and Expanded: 85 Cms.
Adivasis or Tribals Category – Unexpanded: 76 Cms and Expanded: 81 Cms.

Weight: Corresponding to height and age.

Application Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit online application form for BSF RO & RM Head Constable Vacancies through rectt.bsf.gov.in from 24 Aug to 23 Sep 2025. STEP 1 (Online Registration) – Firstly go to the Online Registration Page and submit the required details as Personal information, Mobile number and Email ID. After successful completion of registration, a Registration ID and Password will be generated and sent to you through the registered Email Id and Mobile number.

STEP 2 (Basic Details) – Now go to the Login Page and use Registration ID and Password (generated in Step 1) to login to the application system. Submit the application form by filling all the details like Basic Details, Address, Other Details, Education Qualification etc.

STEP 3 (Photograph, Signature and Fee Payment) – Finally, upload photograph, signature and thumb impression of candidate and then pay the examination fee (if applicable). Thereafter take a printout of online application form for record/ reference.

Examination fee:

Candidates belonging to UR/ EWS/ OBC categories are required to pay Rs 100/- as examination fee. The fee can be paid online using Internet Banking, Credit/ Debit Cards, UPI and Wallet. SC/ST, Departmental (LDCE), Ex-Servicemen, Compassionate Appointment and female candidates are exempted from payment of exam fee.
